I always thought it was "Fridays for High School, Saturdays for College and Sunday for NFL" when it came to football.

Not that I have any interest in the first two, but it kinda made sense as some people like all three or two of the three?

high school and college is done till bowl time as far as I know. no reason we can't have NFL right now.

It'll probably be a happy day for the Steelers tomorrow. The Bengals are so banged up on D right now, but it hasn't really slowed them down yet. Maybe Zimmer magics up another win with practice squaders, draft busts, udfa's, and aging vets, but he's gotta be stretched thin at this point.

I'll say this: As much as I want the Broncos to win the Super Bowl, we aren't gonna win shit! Our defense flat out stinks. If our offense is on and we can out score a team, we can win. But it'll always be in shootout fashion. We used to be good against the run and terrible against the pass. Now were terrible against both.

The first bowls actually start next Saturday. The really, really lower tier ones. I guess the NFL graciously agreed to stay out of the way for all of the bowls, even the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and the like.

I'm confused on how the ranking works for playoffs.

Say the Chiefs, by some act of GawdAlmighty, win the division. But they still lost two to Denver, who gets the higher rank?

How can the Chiefs, who are 1-3 in their division win out over the 4-1 Broncos? I don't think the Chiefs have 4 division games to win in the next two or three weeks.

Am I misunderstanding how this works or was the question really dumb?

The division title overrides everything. KC is no lower than the 4 seed. In your case above Denver is on the road on wild card weekend.

Actually, if KC wins tomorrow they'll have the exact same overall W-L as Denver. Still more than enough time to win out and win the division if Denver drops another game. The head to head is meaningless until a tiebreaker is required.

Fucking Europeans...

If you go 0-6 in the division and 10-0 outside it(10-6 total) and another team goes 6-0 in the division and 3-7 outside it(9-7 total) you will win by virtue of your record. Division record doesn't come in to division standings AT ALL unless you have the exact same total record.

This ain't fuckin' college.
