Just fucking quit acting like the guy is suddenly a "good" QB and I'll shut up. 3 years ago, you retards were playing the Benny Hill theme to Alex Smith. A QB so bad he was getting benched for Trent fucking Dilfer. An amazing coaching staff gets installed in San Francisco and suddenly he's a top 10 QB? Get the fuck out of here. That's my issue with all of the sudden Alex Smith "fans".

He proved it today and he'll keep proving it for years to come. Thanks for the 2nd rounder, KC.
The only reason your team is even in the discussion is its defense. KAeperbro has been fucking awful all year.

If you're trying to get a "burn" in on me by insulting a QB and offense I've been critical of all season, you're wasting your time. Kaeperbro has 2 years as a "starter" and 1 entire year as a starter. In one season, he led his team to the Super Bowl. The other is still to be determined. What did Alex do in his first 2 seasons? Well, his rookie season he had an amazing 1 TD and 11 interceptions, and spent a good portion injured. His second season? 16 TDs, 16 INTs, and about 2900 yards. You're right, Alex wasn't a terrible QB being carried by amazing defense at all....

and with kaepernick passing barely over 3,000 yards in 16 games in his 2nd season, who is carrying him?

You forget which other QB played half their games.

Comparing yards between Smith and Kaepernick is retarded. Smith is in the AFC and Kaepernick is in the NFC west. Smith hasn't seen the kind of defenses week in and week out that Kaep has. Also, Smith would have made over ten times as much as Kaepernick this year and it was the last year of his contract so they would have had to pay him Joe Flacco/Jay Cutler money or let him go after this season anyway. I wouldn't sacrifice anyone on the defense to "upgrade" from Kaepernick to Smith. You have to pay those guys if you want them to carry you. They went from an expensive mediocre quarterback on the downhill side of his career to a mediocre young and cheap quarterback that might get better. That along with a 2nd round draft pick sounds like a pretty good trade to me.

The Smith/Kaepernick discussion isn't going to be resolved this season, especially if SF loses tomorrow too. Smith played great today and was left with his dick swinging in the breeze by his defense and his hall of fame clock manager head coach. He played well enough today for his team to advance to the divisional round of the playoffs - 30/46 for 363 yards, 4 TD 0 INT. They had 150 yards of rushing with no Jamaal Charles for 90% of the game. You might not see another volcanic bed shitting like KC's defense today for years.

On the other hand, Kaepernick's numbers could and probably will be dogshit tomorrow because it's going to be Ice Bowl II in Green Bay and it doesn't take a genius to predict a lot of run plays. Might be one of those situations where everyone needs to get off the quarterback position's nuts. There are clearly other factors in play, especially in KC's situation.

Well I consider it a success regardless. They were 2-14 last year and made the playoffs this year. If I was a KC fan I would be fairly happy.

I would too. I think it was a good trade that made sense for both teams.

It's also sort of fucked that tomorrow the 9ers have to play at Lambeau at absolute zero when they are 12-4 and the Packers are 8-7-1

I'm a fan of whoever the 49ers are playing, so Kirun finally shuts the fuck up when they lose.

Any "Niner fan" that feels the need to rip Smith at this point is just sad to me. The guy struggled through the shittiest times the franchise has seen since the 70's, battling injuries, horrible coaches, and a lack of talent to play with. Somehow he lasted through all that long enough to come out on the other side with one of the best coaches in the league and one of the more talented teams around him. When he finally got all that, he gave the franchise one of its top 3 all-time memorable moments to me. It was a great story of perseverance, it's what sports is all about. To feel the need to rip Smith at this point in order to validate the move to Kaepernick is pathetic. It's ok to be glad they made the move to Kaepernick and still admire what Smith did with the Niners and is doing with the Chiefs.

And yeah, it's an embarrassingly bad take to try to pin the Chiefs loss today on Smith. I was not rooting for the Chiefs btw. I'm glad Smith had a great playoff game, but since his days at Stanford Luck has been the easiest athlete for me to root for maybe in any sport. Guy is just unique. Completely selfless football wunderkind geek.
