for best pic i've seen 3/10 - Conclave, Substance, and Dune. I'll see Brutalist, Anora, and Wicked at some point. None of them are movies i'll remember in 5 years.

Pretty telling that The Substance and Anora are basically nominated in almost every category. What a shit show year for movies.

I used to try and watch all the best picture nominations but haven't done that since 2020 or so. Doesn't feel like I'm missing much this year, only seen one of them. Actually I legitimately don't know if I saw any other movies released last year except Dune 2.

I liked Anora a lot and Mikey Madison deserves to be nominated for it.

Emilia Perez is funny to me (I havent seen it), seems totally uninteresting to me and the LGBT audience HATED it, and critics in Mexico lambasted it as well. Its pure West Coast Oscar bait as far as I can tell.
