wait he shot 45% from the line??

Holy shit that is fucking incredibly bad. Isnt that worse than DeAndre Jordan?

I almost feel like the fact he has been injured actually helps him. If he would have been healthy but still played like shit or below average, his stock would be even lower. But him being hurt for long stretches his true ceiling remains unknown and he can kind of blame some of his mediocre play on injury. I wouldnt say he is a BAD player, but Im not sure he is a #2 overall pick type player.

If he fixed his shot and was actually a scoring threat from deep, he could stretch the floor. But instead guys lay off him and he disrupts the entire offense if there arent at least 2 other great/good shooters on the floor.

Yeah, his shooting has been bad. He does a lot of other things really well though so I think he's a worthy project as a skillset. But his dad is ridiculous.

I don't see it. He's a really good passer in a shooters league. Average rebounder. Guy can't even milk the FT line like Harden so he's a hindrance in the final 2 minutes. Ingram and this year's 4th were the main prizes and the market for AD just wasn't there for a one year trade(at least not for that astronomical price). Lakers are desperate to find some combination that will keep LBJ and hopefully make them contenders for the short term. Losing an average player in Ball and his asshole dad were bonuses.

He's also an excellent defensive player. That certainly matters. Look nobody is saying that he's going to ever be the best player in the league or something, but he does some things real well.

He's mediocre, it's ok you can backtrack on your overblown praise and nobody's going to crucify you for it.

I think I would've valued the #3 pick (Barrett), Smith Jr., and Robinson more than what the Pelicans got, honestly. Ingram is, eh. Ball does some good things, but some things really, really badly. I think Barrett is a definite step above say, Culver. Robinson will be a double-double rim protection machine. Knicks get AD, get KD to sign etc...

'19-'20 Pelicans - Ball, Holiday, Culver/Ingram, Williamson, (whoever) that's an interesting team no doubt. Wonder if you could move #4 for Carter Jr. from the Bulls or something. I'd also really kick around Ball for the Suns #6 pick, take Garland #4 at PG, and then use #6 for Reddish/Culver. That's going to be a really athletic, good defensive team. Could be dangerous in 3-4 years.

Obvious great move by the Lakers, and retaining Kuzma. I would go get some mid-tier guys with cap space over a Butler/Walker. Team is sorely lacking a bench now - Beverly/Rubio, Bogdonavic/Green or what not.

His dad is straight up fucking retarded.
LaVar Ball: Lonzo trade will be Lakers' worst move
"I guarantee: Like I say again, it will be the worst move the Lakers ever did in their life and they will never win another championship," LaVar Ball told ESPN while at the Drew League on Saturday to watch his son LaMelo play. "Guarantee it.

"They're going to regret it. I'm going to have fun with it. Because I told you all, it was crashing down. Now [the Lakers] completely crashed, but at least my son got off the boat before the thing exploded. I gave them a chance. You can rewind it and go back. I said if you get the three Ball brothers, you can survive this. You let him go, oh, it's going to be a cold day in hell. Trust and believe that."
Now, I won't claim this makes the Lakers favorites to win it all or anything, but to make a claim that because of this the Lakers will 1. never win another championship, and 2. if they had just got all the Ball brothers all would be right. Dude is just dumb.

It's just marketing and bullshit.

It always has been. The whole thing is a sham. They milked a reality show out of it.

I think the most ridiculous statement was how Lonzo is gonna mentor Williamson and will be the reason he succeeds....LOL.

LaVar is winning. Y'all are talking about him.

He knows he doesn't have to be factually correct to be relevant as oftentimes spewing nonsense gets him the best publicity.

Dude is in the news more often than Michael Jordan, The GOAT, who owns a franchise, and has his clothing brand's logo on jerseys.

This is what i was thinking all along. Apparently Zion and Barrett are best buddies, so that would have been a continuation of their already existing chemistry and something to build on down the road. Smith Jr. is a solid player and i like him better than Ball or Ingram - also seems like a decent fella.

The NBA wanted this trade though - hard. Shit has been buzzing large, but i've gotten old enough to realize that it's an entertainment business. They do what's best for the bottom line at the end of the day.

I don't think he's garbage, but his shooting is such a liability that everything else he brings just raises him up to average

He can't even penetrate so his passing vision is wasted (and especially so when he was on the floor with Lebron). I just think he's always going to be mediocre if he can't get to the rim. Someone like Jason Kidd was a pretty horrible shooter for a long time (though he improved in the second half of his career) but he could always get in the lane and that made all the difference.

Ball was also the #2 pick, and he has not shown signs of being worthy of that. Better than #1 that year though. If the Lakers drafted him 2nd round or really late 1st round, Ball looks better. But after Ball and Russell both at #2, and Randle at #7 a few years earlier, the Lakers have been missing on their picks.

Sounds like the Lakers may not be able to sign another max player unless they can convince the Pelicans to hold off on the trade until the end of July, which I dont believe they have any incentive to do.

If so, that sounds like rob lowe's brother is retard.

I'm a Cavs fan, but I still think LeBron's decision to go to the Lakers, at this point in his career, and as if he was gonna create magic again from out of basically nothing, was delusional. LBJ sometimes can be really dumb. I still think LeBron's career and skills peaked in 2015 and 2016. In some ways 2015 was really amazing. Remember how he almost carried the whole team through the finals? That finals was a textbook case of an athlete really playing his heart out.

I wish him the best, but I don't get a good vibe from the Lakers. I think it was a huge mistake to go there, at his age.

Lebron went to LA saying all the right things about it being a journey and preaching patience, and within a year gets the coach fired and tries to trade most of the team for his agent-buddy's top client. F him and his insincerity. He may be a great player, but he's bad for basketball. I hope he loses until he retires

I differ with you on one aspect of this. Superstars are gonna be divas. That is just how it works. And imagine the NBA without any divas..... crickets.

My concern is, he is starting to miscalculate. And a diva that miscalculates = joke.

I hope LeBron does not turn himself into a joke. He has been one hell of a player. GOAT? Maybe.
