think of it as a block in the back on a kick off, you still start out 1st and 10

Item 6: Foul After Change of Possession. If there is a foul, including a dead-ball foul, after team possession has changed during a down, following enforcement of a distance penalty, it is first-and-10 for the team that was in possession at the time of the foul.

This is really how it should work, IMO. At least if it's something like a personal foul, unsportsmanlike, unnecessary roughness, etc.

This is really how it should work, IMO. At least if it's something like a personal foul, unsportsmanlike, unnecessary roughness, etc.

Yeah I actually thought personal fouls were handled differently. But Gav and Jooka got me sorted out.
