The difference between this week and last week was the turnovers. This is the game Shanahan always wants to play but you can't do it when you're 2 scores down. Garoppolo CANNOT come from behind. Get down 14 points and let the d-line come after Jimmy and you're fucked. Get ahead by 14 and they will wreck you with the run game. That's why I've said plenty of times that the league had better watch out if Shanahan ever gets his hands on a real quarterback.

I think the Woods injury really fucked us but there was more rot beneath the surface to expose anyways.
We have the players I think, but can it all mesh? Can we stay healthy and stop turning the ball over?
I definitely don't feel like this team can afford to just give away points every week and expect to win. They should stop listening to their press and play like their legacies are on the line.

Jimmy had 2 4th quarter comebacks in 2017 (and didn't get there until week 12), 2018 he tore his ACL week 3, 2019 he had 4 4th quarter comebacks, 2020 he missed 12(13?) games, and he already has 1 this year against the Bears. Really should be 2, because the defense fucked us in the Green Bay game, not Jimmy.
Shanahan is 0-24 when trailing by 7+ at halftime. His little artsy fartsy bullshit doesn't work when he's behind.
One day, 49er fans will realize that Jimmy wasn't the fuckin' problem. Probably at the end of this season, when I'm betting we release him.
