I dont know about this trade for the 49ers.....

3 first round picks????

For what? Mac Jones? Justin Fields?

I dont know this is either going to work out great, or be a disaster.

I dont understand these deals this early. Why not work the trade in the actual draft and maybe who you wanted will drop down to you if you're lucky? Or maybe at a later spot where you would have to trade less. Aaron Rodgers happened.

I've heard the argument they already know blahblahblah a certain team is going to take _______.

Bullshit. Teams send out false/misinformation all the time. At least the good ones do.

I mean, I think #1 is basically known. Also the 49ers former D Coordinator is head coach of the Jets who are picking 2nd. If anyone is in a position to know...

Its your career as a coach and new team, and he doesn't owe the 49ers anything as to who they are taking because #1 picks could go different ways than people think and you could end up with some kind of Herschel Walker scenario. They are not set in stone to have take X player and Lawrence is not as unanimous on scouting reports that people seem to think. Some dont think he is the 2nd best QB.

Chargers at 29th? What is this horseshit.
Just Chargers things my friend. Decent coach + good team = injuries. Good team + easy schedule = dumb coach. Etc, etc.

One day the stars will align in your favor. Even when they dont, you can still say, "At least I'm not the Raiders."

Chargers Franchise Choose Two: Good coaching, talented team, no injuries.

I get where you are coming from with this. The argument I have heard is that if you put it in place now you don't have to scramble to move up during the draft, and potentially compete against other teams and get in a bidding war and possibly pay more. With this move they lock into the 3rd spot, and they are allegedly comfortable with any of the top QBs that land there.

This is 100% true. Some people have Wilson as the better prospect than Lawrence. If Wilson somehow falls to 3, I would be so damn excited.

I mean, I've heard some teams grade Fields as a 4th round pick, too. But some teams are just stupid as fuck. Saleh doesn't owe the 49ers anything, but that sort of info I'm sure happens more than we know during draft season, and they're in opposite conferences, so it's not like they're directly competing or anything.

After watching Wilson's pro day, I don't see how he makes it to 3. Hell, he looked good enough to make me think Urban could second guess himself once he see's it, think they were the only team not present

There is zero chance SF gets a top QB without trading up. This guaranteed the spot early, automatically. For the Dolphins and spot #6, they obviously feel the guy they want won't last until #12 and trading now is usually cheaper than during the draft. It's definitely more guaranteed. Philly wanted more picks and someone elite should still be there at #12. They are set next year if they have to get another QB. It's a pretty damn perfect scenario for all 3.

This early trading guarantees the spots they want. It's not usually done so no real competition, no pressure on either side, no last minute fuck ups like Minnesota had. For control freaks, this is a superior option than the chaos of draft night.

There is zero chance Wilson, Lawrence, or Fields will last until #12. There is an extremely low chance Chase, Sewell, or Pitts lasts until #12. I really like this outside of the box thinking by these GMs. I give them a ton of credit.

Yeah, I really like Miami's trades. In the aggregate Tunsil and a 4th turned into 3 1s, a 2, a 3, and a 5. Now they need to keep these dudes instead of losing them once they develop.

I think Chase, Sewell, or Pitts lasting until 12 is near zero. Pitts maybe highest of those, unless teams are ranking the WR's a lot different than most analysts (happens, but yeah).

The only problem I have with the Miami trades together is they are moving back twice in this draft (#3 to #6, and out of Round 4 back into Round 5), but not moving up anywhere this year. They get a 3rd next year, and have to wait 2 years for the extra 1st (2023). You could argue they could have just traded back with Carolina or Philly from the jump and gotten another Day 2 pick this year, and move that extra 1st up to next year.

Hyperbole.

Zero chance? Reality is that good players drop all the time in the draft.

I get wanting to move on from Jimmy G, but getting an "NFL ready" QB to start day one? This isn't going to go as well as the 49ers think.
