Gave up a 3rd and 12 and a 3rd and 20. Just straight garbage defense.
Why would you not take the 3 points there? Pittsburgh has rarely shown life on offense all night except for 1 drive.
Too much analytics being taken in without context. All the % chance to win is basically an average and doesn't seem to be accounted for based on your opponent. If you're playing the Bills or Chiefs? Yes, you probably want to go for it because you either get TD's or you lose. But if you're playing a team with an anemic offense? Separating by 3 more points is almost like asking them to perform a Herculean task.I said the exact thing. Why pass up the opportunity to go up two possessions?
Geno Smith playing well was the last thing I expected this season. Pete Carroll is the real winner in all of this, as much as I hate his pompous sideline antics.
It is frustrating as hell when the other team has a guy like that. It's also frustrating when your team has Jimmy G.
As much as I think Jimmy G is a mediocre QB at best, that O-Line was basically non-existent the entire game. Compare the time Mahomes had in the pocket to Jawline Jimmy and its no contest. That safety was a prime example. That being said, RomanceNovelCover Jimmy makes rookie mistakes constantly while under pressure, and apparently doesn't know when to just take a sack or throw the ball away.I think average fans are starting to realize Jimmy G is fools gold. His heat chart over the past 5 seasons is hilarious its literally a red blotch over the middle of the field and everything else is deep blue.
Ita not hard to put the breaks on an offense when 9 guys can just clog the middle of the field. Its even worse in the redzone. What is amazing to me though is that the 49ers were the BEST redzone offense in the league last year. What the fuck happened?
