Players weren't having to start defending players like Curry as soon as they hit the logo because of how wildly accurate they were from that range. They would have schooled them from how much space they would have given him.

Arguing eras is retarded. Players are also so much faster and stronger these days. Sports medicine and how much athletes have been able to optimize their bodies is on a whole other level. Curry would be running laps around those alcoholics midway through the third quarter.
bro the players clotheslined and beat up on each other so much in the 1980s that they made a whole video game about it

I think saying Bird or Jordan(or any other elite 3 point shooter in past eras) if they wanted/needed to shoot 3's at a volume of today's game that wouldn't be good at it is asinine. They are the kind of players that will practice shoot 10,000 shots a day to become a cut above the rest at it. Would they be as good as Curry? That is a debate that will go on till the end of days because there is no way to know.

Y'all also act like players today wouldn't acclimate to the game back then. Like it only goes one way.

These discussions are retarded. It's like when Boston blowhards say Bill Russell is the GOAT because of ring count when he played when there were like eight total teams and five of them were filled with pasty white boy high schoolers.

No they aren't you moron. This is the same stupid argument used in the NFL thread. Not every dude today is Lebron. Not every player back then was a Laimbeer sized enforcer. You ever hear of MJ? There's not even a reason for faster and stronger in an NBA that just shoots 3s and FTs all the time, so you'll have to decide which argument you want to focus on so you aren't contradicting yourself in your own arguments.

"These NBA players are so fast and strong that they shoot 3s and get fouled all the time when they don't! It's incredibly taxing to get to the 3 point line and either shoot or get fouled. Amazing athletes!!! No one has ever been able to get to the 3-point line and shoot before!"

Here's three questions. How is sports medicine so amazing if the players don't ever play as much as the previous generations and are injured all the time? In a game that is about 10x less physical? Question 3. The media talks all the time about how lazy and out of shape Doncic has been. Yet, he's a top tier elite NBA player. Curry would run laps but somehow a lazy fuck is on the same level as Curry today. How is that?

Fair point. Alex brings up quality posts in the " Proud fag from San Fran. Now hear me roar!" thread. His specialty definitely does not lie in the sports threads even if I agree Joe Burrow is very talented.

People talk about the 80s and 90s like every team was the Lakers/Bulls/Celtics. You guys really should have been watching some sweet Bullets/Nets games.

Curry doesn't just stand around shooting threes. No one moves off ball more than him. He sprints like three miles per game.

I don't think "Curry being the best shooter ever" and "ex-NBA legends would point up more points in today's game" have to be exclusive. I think they're both true.

NBA, at minimum, needs to round off the 3 pt line and get rid of the corner 3. The 3 ball output is retarded in today's game. It almost completely nullifies all the other aspects of the game. The argument is "this causes players to be way more skilled and be more mobile defenders", but is this really actually true? Usually, it's one guy initiating the offense and everyone just stands in one spot waiting for an open 3. It sucks.

This is an incredibly stupid argument. If you took todays superstars and dropped them into the game 30 years ago they'd die on the court. If you took superstars from 30 years ago and dropped them into todays game half of them would be ejected for a flagrant within the first five minutes. Some might be able to adapt but they'd definitely be at a disadvantage after having spent most of their lives training to play a radically different game.

GM also fired. Very strange thing to do just days before playoffs.

Their issue has been a roster construction issue, not sure they needed to fire the coach too. Unless the GM they plan on hiring has someone that they want in as coach.

But the Nuggets are 4th in the West. It's not like we're dealing with the Jazz here. Even if the new GM wants his own guy, why would you destroy your playoff chances by changing coaches right before the playoffs start?

I wasn't saying it was a smart move, just speculating on why they might do it that way.
