Can't wait to lose a game to this nonsense.

Who gives a fuck about these dumb plays?

Its to help drive up scoring and prevent injuries. Kickoffs are one of the biggest injury plays in the game.

kay

how is the on sides kick going to work?

Teams now have to declare when they are attempting an onside kick. They get only two per game, and neither can take place before the fourth quarter.

This might be the lamest part of the new rules.

Why not make it a coin flip? Declare an onsides kick. other team gets to call heads or tails.

Yeah I think no surprise kicks and none before the 4th (although if you're not doing a surprise one, I guess you'd never really do it before the 4th) just makes it boring af. Might as well just go with that "if they can convert a 4th and 15, they get the ball back" rule some team tried to put forward.
