Pretty sure he is still trying to build. Just not in south Philly. He bought up a whole area of waterfront property and rumor is he's funding the trolly/95 construction on Richmond st which is where the casino would be close to. The area he bought up is off beach st.
i hope you're right. harrah's chester and sugarhouse are both total shit holes.

Still can't believe how quickly everything exploded at 38 studios.
It didn't explode quickly though, that's just the outside view. They'd been circling the bowl for months before they imploded. You can last months when you stop paying your bills, until the house of cards collapses all at once. Don't forget they let their employees keep showing up for work for 3 weeks without pay.

^ I felt the same way about swtor once I saw the Sith warrior talent trees. Basically a reskin of tbc talents for most classes. Other than companions and slapping ME cutscenes into an mmo, swtor was a blue UI reskin of wow...only if you know 75% of the ui actually worked for guilds, etc.
In fairness, the companions, which are basically auto-attack made digital flesh, are a pretty decent idea, and some of their quest lines were very fun. It was everything else that sucked. Especially Hoth.

It's awesome to watch Curt's smug ass on Baseball Tonight recap random games like nothing happened haha
What do you expect him to do? Dude pissed away the majority of his fortune, and is on the hook for some of 38's debt. He's got bills to pay.

No doubt haha. Do we know how much he's on the hook for? Or has that really even been determined yet? I imagine legal fees alone fighting various court battles will be a killer for him.

He doesn't have any legal fees.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling and three other former 38 Studios executives will be allowed to access $2 million in insurance money that could have gone to creditors in the company's bankruptcy case to help cover defense costs in a lawsuit filed by the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, according to a review of court documents by WPRI.com.

He ins't on the hook for anything as it stands right now. The state has to now prove fraud.

If he gets off, he doesn't owe a thing. (And if you think he lost everything on this deal, I have a bridge to sell you)

He lost far more than he gained.

He just tried to do too much with too little knowledge and took himself and a lot of other folks down with him. In hindsight he should have just invested with an established company and pushed for his little nitch game.

He personally guaranteed a couple loans at the very end to try to keep things running. I've seen it mentioned as being anywhere from 4-8 million. That's over and above the approximately 50 million he sunk in to it previously.

Calling bullshit. Have a link? The last money he had invested was two million which he had the Loan pay off to wipe his name off it so he wouldn't be personally held liable.

Good for you.

The documents do not specify the size of the bank loan or its intended purpose, and the only debtor listed on the forms is Schilling, not his company. However, in an interview with the Providence Journal, published this week, Schilling said his investment in 38 Studios totaled $50 million, including $12 million in loans that he personally guaranteed.
No idea on whether he paid himself back with RI funds. I would imagine if he did, they will nail him to the cross.

In the end, Reckoning sold about 1.5 million units, which was a more-than-respectable debut for a gaming company, but nothing like the spectacular showing that Mr. Schilling had projected. There was no way that he was going to lure more private financing at that point, and he had no more of his own cash to lose. He pledged his collection of gold coins to secure a bank loan for $8.5 million, but time was running out.

And this is coming from Curt Schilling. You believe what he says why again?

Previously, Schilling has said he invested roughly$30 million in 38 Studios, a significant portion of his personal fortune. Separately, the company told investors it used the state-backed funds to help pay off a $2.5 million credit line that the company had taken out and Schilling had personally guaranteed.
Get out the nails.
