I'm not sure what the hate is for this movie. I thought it was a pretty good vampire flick.

It was definitely fun. I enjoyed it.
Also... that cameo at the end... he played a vampire before. heh

This is on Amazon Prime now. Wife and I enjoyed it for what it is - worth a watch if you like these B-grade horror movies. Plus Kevin Durand was fun, as usual.

yeah, caught this on prime as well.

most of the movie was better then expected. however, kind of hated the ending. Feel like they all do complete 180's on character motivations and behaviours.

So the minority woman and evil deranged vampire kid, who is actually kinda cool and stand upish and just needed a parental figure, defeat the evil white guy. Uh huh

Yeah I agree with you. It wasn't bad and then like you said it was just a complete 180. At least it was something different, and most of the movie was pretty fun. The vampire exploding stuff was something I hadn't seen before. First time it happened I was like whoa what the hell.

I had the complete opposite reaction. When it ended, I told my wife THIS is how you do empowered minority females, if that's your thing. She wasn't a Mary Sue, and never race/sex was never an issue brought up.

I had less of an issue with that and more of an issue with the way literally every man in the movie was portrayed as either incompetent, stupid, or evil. Well, except the one black guy who was more of an enigma than anything else. Strange movie overall. The vampire girl's personality seemed to do a 180 in the third act. Melissa Barrera's character was basically invincible for 90% of the movie and it killed a lot of the tension. Whole thing was a bit meh.

I wrote up a very brief review in the movie you just watched thread. Summary, good visuals including dumb but well done special effects. Terrible writing and an ending so dumb it makes Twilight seem normal.
