some of those rumors make sense in a logical world, but for whatever reason Kennedy isnt going anywhere until she decides she is retiring. my guess is she has some kind of legal sway over Iger because she helped him bamboozle Star Wars from Lucas and if she goes public then its a huge scandal for Disney. worse than anything. it may even lead to the sale being voided and the IP going back to Lucas. so she gets to stay as long as she wants. even if her bullshit project announcements get shot down.

Hopefully Gideon plays it more straight around Thrawn. It worked having him ham it up in Mandalorian, he nailed it for the most part, but that shouldn't be going on in Thrawn's presence. I better not get one of Gideon's stupid smirks or smug smiles on his face in response to anything to do with Thrawn. Gideon's whole demeanor will have to change to interest me in a big screen movie.

Iger did bully Lucas into selling also. When Lucas tried to pull out of the deal halfway through, he was threatened with a fee for damage done for pulling out. Was going to be between 300-500m if Lucas wanted to walk away, from an immediate lawsuit from Disney.
Lucas already had trouble making payroll for ILM. So any threat by Disney to collect any type of fee for wasting their time would force his hand.
It all worked out in the end, as George Lucas made over 10 billion from the deal as of 2020.
Those stock options and dividends went a long way.

Although George Lucas was paid $4 billion by Disney for the sale of Lucasfilm, the value of his stock has risen significantly in the past few years.

There was definitely some handshake contract and verbal agreement that Iger completely disregarded. Iger himself publicly admitted Lucas felt betrayed. Pretty sure Lucas tried to get some stuff in writing and that's when the threat was dropped that'd he owe money for wasting Disney's time if he didn't take the "very good" deal after agreeing to sell to them.

yup and if KK was there as witness and comes out confirming what Lucas said, that could cause some excitement. i think Iger rightly decided that keeping her at Disney while he oversees and kills off her dumb projects is better than a huge lawsuit. although now that she cost the company billions of dollars and is playing fucky with the books on shows like The Aocolyte, he may have to make a tough decision. in the end Lucasfilm may end up getting sold, maybe to Apple or maybe even back to Lucas himself.

Also one of the main plot points is Ahsoka and Sabine searching for Thrawn and Ezra. My guess is he will end up being the Jedi / Mystery Man with the double saber in the suit that she force pushes away. Though some people are fan hoping thats Mara Jade.
