District 9 was great and original. Elysium was good for Shadowrun junkies and so-so for everyone else. Chappie was unwatchable shit. I am willing to give him another chance.

I guess we never saw Paxton's character actually die in Aliens. He was pulled under a floor, but then a nuclear explosion went off shortly after. So yeah, kind of hard to retcon that shit.

I thought District 9 was ok and his personal story was interesting...but he hasn't really done a good job since. Getting rid of 3 and 4 are obvious so that really doesn't blind me to the probably shitstorm this new movie will be. While making a classic like 2 is way beyond my hopes, shouldn't it be fairly easy to just make it a decent movie?
