Just like everyone else is saying, we know you were on the bottom. We know that because we actually got in the water to fight, but everyone would just swim back to the bottom.
I will say that I'm a bit disappointed by most of the people in this game (and that includes a large portion of PRX). It seems like most people just want to farm and fish. The amount of people actually looking to PVP is pretty small, and that's unfortunate because it's by far my favorite part of the game.
Also, as I posted a week or so ago, it seems to me that the West faction on Kyrios has started to dwindle. The White Order seems to be the only guild still around in any numbers.
They really need to hurry up with Auroria (although they likely need to fix the hacker shit first), because people are quickly running out of things to do.
I'd say that most people don't want to engage in PVP unless they're in an overwhelming position of power (whether that be numbers or surprise).

As far as the PvP in general, this has been my concern for awhile and it's across all servers. A large (dare I say majority) of players in this game are firmly content with farming, running trade packs during peacetime, and the small scale pvp/ganking mostly of lowbies if the oppotunity presents itself. It's good the castle stuff is coming because I'm not sure what they expect people to do if most don't want to fight.

The best way to encourage PVP is to have good PVE content and resources to fight over. People get tired of just looking for fights. Huge non instanced dungeons with raid bosses in tight quarters with good loot that is needed for boats and shit and you just created PVP.

As much as I want to believe, everyone says "It wasnt my fault" and 95% of the time it is. Gaming wide its very rare when its a actual company/software vulnerability. And if it was the latter, I should see thousands upon thousands of accounts taken and charged not the trickle you see atm.
As much as I want to blame people, I can't. People want gear and to get that gear they need to do a lot of pve grinding(mostly).

Hasla is a good example of resource contention bringing about PvP, but the flagging and crime system really cripples it. There's just too much inertia for one faction to control it and to not flag and kill each other. There will be some good fights between west and east now and then, but from my experience east usually holds it outside of peace time.

Also, you're right Cinge about needing money. The whole gearing system sucks and it forces people into doing massive amounts of PVE to hope to make any progress.

I like the sandbox aspect of the game, do what you feel like doing, and have taken advantage of the fact that I don't have do PvP if I don't feel like it. That said, I do think the sub-30 carebear zones and the peacetime mechanic leech a lot of opportunity out of the game. Peacetime is something of a necessity though, and we all know why. I do wish I could freely kill the bots that run tradepacks in the carebear zones.

What changes would they make?
I expect it to be like beta, where there is no library and no mobs in the library zone but you can get obsidian stuff from regular auroria mobs, you just can't use them yet(as obsidian weapons were a stepping stone between eph/delphinad and the new weapons).
Will be fun to see how crowded the huge bird dudes are as everyone tries to level alt trees + pets/mounts.

You must not have been around when Rift players were getting hacked where they bypassed passwords by getting user IDS or some shit and logging directly in.
I haven't been to any , that is NONE whatsoever gaming sites other than here and the email here isn't the same for my trion accounts.
Also out of the 24 years online I have been hacked twice now. Both were Trion games. How ironic.
Chat support was able to refund the charges back and we moved the account to a fresh email and crap but my characters are stripped with no gear and no telling when that will be restored.
Apparently there is a large back up of banned/hacked accounts.

I was around the Rift and their login vulnerability. But like I said those kind of things are pretty rare, when you look at the big picture of hacked/stolen accounts(Which happens in every game). The vast majority of "I lost my account" is on the user, either they were phished, keylogged or they use the same pw/username for everything.
Even harder because of authenticators and 2 step processes now(IP checks etc). As in they could get my pw/username(Which is unique for this game only) but still can't get in because of the auth and not having my IP(though the latter can be bypassed if they also have access to your e-mail, which happens a lot because people using same user/pw).
Given history, I just never believe someone when they say "I didn't do it, its not my fault". It's just like those that get banned and take to forums to announce their innocence. In this regard its "guilty until proven innocent".

I could possibly agree with that but in my case the email used for trion was a @ email address for a cable company that has been gone for 2 years now and a password not used elsewhere for anything. Heck I can't even change that emails password, the website has been long long gone from that company. It still works though so I use it for that since it was a RIFT login email.

Even more concerning was the GM in chat never suspected or asked about possible keyloggers, phishing or whatnot.

Fuck all of that. I use 2 maybe 3 passwords across all my games and only 1 email and have never been hacked. That being said I do have pretty strong passwords to use and I have authenticators/email/text or whatever the hell else alerts I can setup on almost every account.
