What does the new kraken do to fight off your ships? Is it a tank fight?
1.7 has killed Hurricanes due to the new ship physics.
...okay, that's not really a bad thing, but it was one of the last few things I loved about this game.
To be fair, 1.7 is probably the best update ArcheAge has ever received. The problem is that most of the damage has already been done and it's too late to fix. For example, getting rid of housing and portals on Freedich is great... except that Freedich is fairly irrelevant by this point. Freedich needed to be a no-house-port zone from the very beginning.
I have not personally ever fought the 1.7 Kraken, but from what my friends in KR told me, I think it just kinda sits on the statue. I also don't know where the statue is. It's in the ocean... Somewhere.
Speaking about sea monsters, I'm sure you're aware of the Leviathan. It circles around Freedich constantly, counter-clockwise, I believe. After 7 months, KR killed it for the first time a week ago.
I'm still trying to get details on it. So far, I know that it has two phases. The first phase is when the Leviathan is swimming around Freedich, you will need an insanely fast galleon to keep up with him, and powerful cannons to shoot at him whenever he comes up for breath.
His second phase has him swimming in a very tight circle. During this phase, you move in more galleons and fire at him like you do with the original Kraken. I'm not sure if he needs to be tanked.
When you kill him, you bring his body to Diamond Shores and hoist it on a special hook (or maybe this was trolling with poon cannons, tough to tell). I don't know what he drops, but I think there is a faction-wide buff for killing him. (Haven't translated it yet.)
