Yeah, I missed that your link indicated it was on the PTS and thought you were out of your mind seeing collision damage on live.

Did they fix the lag in fishing due to the fish on fishing boats going nuts when boats collide?

Kinda hard to test that. I'm currently growing bamboo trees on test so i can craft a fishing pole.

And the crazy P2W continues on our server. This guy now has a Mythic Ayanad Bow and a Mythic Shortpsear. Also it seems he is going for Epic or Legendary buff. Shit is crazy. He is first by a long mile on the rankings. But at least their faction sucks and we dominate them anyway XD

Don't worry, once 1.7 hits and you P2W for Mythic cannons, you'll be able to 2-4 shot anything on the ocean. =)

We are regrading ships like crazy at the moment. Apparently the tradepack event fucked us over. We are only second place with ~1350 tradepacks, but we kept count and are over ~1800. I hope GMs can sort this out. Would really suck, if dont get 1st place =/

Welcome to 1.7!

We started the night executing a land rush strategy at Golden Ruins under Witch's guidance. We were able to lock down the West at the Nui and pretty much give the East free reign to plant properties around the map.

We then went to Mistmerrow. We got there a bit late because of the land rush at Golden Ruins. When we arrived the West nearly capped the entire map, but we fought back! In the end we lost by one point, but enjoyed the new event.

We then went to Halcyona! The East made a great showing and we won it handily.

We then spent the evening crafting, practicing against the ghost ship, looking for sea bugs and playing with the new mechanics! 1.7 is finally here and we're looking forward to enjoying AA like it was meant to be!

...I, uh... don't really know how to respond to that comment. This isn't how AA was meant to be at all.

It won't be much longer before I stop shitting all over this thread, as 1.7 is the last patch I have any knowledge of (though I know a tiny bit about 1.8). But just so my posts aren'tcompletelyworthless, I recommend that you hunt down the new Kraken and get a respawn timer for it. There is now a second Kraken that grips on a statue in the ocean somewhere. It's stationary and you kill it with ship cannons. Once it's dead, your high-skilled miners can mine a gem from the statue that can be traded in for thousands of gold.

But you're not shitting in this thread! In addition to the mythic cannon complaint, what else don't you like about 1.7?

What does the new kraken do to fight off your ships? Is it a tank fight?

1.7 has killed Hurricanes due to the new ship physics.

...okay, that's not really a bad thing, but it was one of the last few things I loved about this game.

To be fair, 1.7 is probably the best update ArcheAge has ever received. The problem is that most of the damage has already been done and it's too late to fix. For example, getting rid of housing and portals on Freedich is great... except that Freedich is fairly irrelevant by this point. Freedich needed to be a no-house-port zone from the very beginning.

I have not personally ever fought the 1.7 Kraken, but from what my friends in KR told me, I think it just kinda sits on the statue. I also don't know where the statue is. It's in the ocean... Somewhere.

Speaking about sea monsters, I'm sure you're aware of the Leviathan. It circles around Freedich constantly, counter-clockwise, I believe. After 7 months, KR killed it for the first time a week ago.

I'm still trying to get details on it. So far, I know that it has two phases. The first phase is when the Leviathan is swimming around Freedich, you will need an insanely fast galleon to keep up with him, and powerful cannons to shoot at him whenever he comes up for breath.

His second phase has him swimming in a very tight circle. During this phase, you move in more galleons and fire at him like you do with the original Kraken. I'm not sure if he needs to be tanked.

When you kill him, you bring his body to Diamond Shores and hoist it on a special hook (or maybe this was trolling with poon cannons, tough to tell). I don't know what he drops, but I think there is a faction-wide buff for killing him. (Haven't translated it yet.)

So "fun" ninja nerfs:

1) Ironclad is worthless now. Dmg nerfed 80% across the board in siege mode. Pretty much pointless to use in a siege. GG.
2) Serpentis reagent bags cant be opened...most people kept them unopened to save inventory space

Trion needs to actually hire someone who is fluent in Korean and can actually communicate with XL to figure out what bullshit they are putting into builds

Oh man.... We've been telling people to get ironclads for the last 7 months because of the AE stun. I don't know what the real distribution is, but from the siege videos I've watched and my own personal experience Ironclads were the tank of choice for serious players.

I've been excited for the castle nerfs because I wanted to have a much more equal playing field, but this change goes against that, since most of our opponents use Ironclads as well, and asking them to remake their tanks is a tall order given the new ship grind that everyone is now on.
