Damn, I want to play this game so badly, but 160 Euros for Alpha-Access is just crazy. Scott, gimme Beta invites!
I do too, but the game just seems realllly tedious, like I don't give a fuck about Farmville, or craftville, I want to pvp and raid for my loot.

Unless the game is totally doable without Farmville aspect or craftville I probably wont play it.

I don't care about crafting/farming either but IMO you will have to do some of it for no other reason than to get the gold you will need to purchase high end gear, which is crafted.

Best thing for players like you to do is get a large farm and plant something like aspen trees over and over. Lumber will always be in demand and the amount of time it takes for them to grow means it's something you only have to worry about once a day.

Is it possible to make enough gold off of treasure hunting to allow you to purchase high end gear?

The FarmVille shit isn't for me.

It's probably gonna be possible, but you're gonna at a disadvantage versus people who play play farmville.

As someone mentioned taking 5 mins a day to harvest your farm and seeding it again is not much, and would be a huge boost to your adventuring income.

As a healer that's primarily looking for some PVP action this is what I plan on rolling.

ArcheAge Simulator - Arche-Base

Looks pretty ridiculous. Of course I can't level as this spec because there's almost no sustained damage, only burst so it would be the worst thing ever, so it's going to be a pain in the ass to level witchcraft.

Shrug it off can be used while stunned.
This seems to be the go to PVP healer build I've seen in places.

The farmville isn't that time consuming or as tedious as i thought it would be. This $150 Alpha may change things though. Game is FULL even at 150(though only 1 server but still). If you rolled today it will be very hard to find a spot for a large farm or a house. They are there but it will take luck finding a spot until the first wave of inactives lose their plots in 1-2 weeks.

My biggest concerns so far is how fast the server matures and then everything changes. It seems like once everyone has farms houses and their big boats there is significantly less to do and reasons to do it.

sounds like I should wait for release so I don't burn out, all though I do love to test classes and all that shit but not for 150$. 50$ id probably do that but that pack only comes with beta weekends, is there going to be an open beta do you think?

Possible, but you'll want the higher tier crafted gear which is a pain in the ass to get, and the higher tier lunadrops/stones (enchants) for said gear.

I've got some super secret area 51 farmville alien gold machines that get me there. You'll be at the mercy of the coin purse lotto to even get close to farmville in gold count.

Unless you 24/7 grind mobs and shit.

Some of the treasure chests you hunt undersea are real trolls too, like 50 silver for a half hours adventure type trolll.

I mean, place top 10 on the fishing boards and you win 2000 gold... so there's that.

Also top ranking PVP players get loads of honor points each month. We're talking 40-50k honor.

Once the game goes live, I assume at the point where most players have acquired their house and boat (individual goals) is when the server politics meta game kicks in and the emphasis changes to guild vs guild conflict to conquer the northern PVP territory.

Lumber is good for the first two weeks, after that there's much more gold/hour in other crops. Atleast that's how it was with the alpha buy-in influx.

I'm currently tripling and quadrupling my gold investments in other markets not lumber related, which is at best 13-14 gold a day and requires a bit of effort to plant chop refine and post and replant.

That is true for people who want to actively play the FarmVille/auction house game to maximize gold income For the people who aren't enthused about the Farmville aspect of the game, they can go the simple route of just growing the items that will always be in demand. They won't make near as much money as someone like you but they will get what they have earned for their effort.

Growing the items is still farmville, I spend infinitely less effort on my market manipulation than they would sitting there chopping planting refining posting and replanting any said crop they think are worth money.

I've also set up a 100g/day passive non-market fluctuating income for my family of 4 while doing this as well.

Takes at most 10 minutes every 6 hours between 4 people to upkeep. A fifth person would add 20g/day to this method.

Is there going to be faction/guild warfare in this? By that I mean, are they allowing sieges/property destruction? Or is it just a bunch of skirmishes over trade packs and hidden farms?

A properly maintained cow multi-farm setup brings in an estimated 24g every day (6.1 hr timers) per 19 cow (max capacity) large farm. @Vendor Priced Milk sales

Crafting combined feed sells at a profit margin of 250 - 300% over cost (all items purchased) and is used to upkeep the cows, and can be sold on the market to offset cow upkeep costs. Can further offset costs here by making clover bundles instead of buying materials. Additional bonus of worms which go for 8-10 silver each. a profit of roughly 5g/3hrs.

Crafting livestock supplement has a resale margin of 150% - 200% over cost and is also used to upkeep cows, and can be sold to offset cow upkeep costs. Not worth farming your own mats to make, just buy and resell. Cost offset value here is less than 5 silver a unit. Not worth the hours it takes to offset.

The cows take roughly 3.25 days to pay themselves off.

I can go into further detail on this and other markets at the request of the forum.

Of course: gold valuations are based on yesterdays market values.

There's a few different avenues. In short, PvP guilds will build castles on the north continent and other guilds can siege them ala shadowbane. The castles confer questionable levels of benefit, but I think it'll mostly be a prestige thing to have a castle.

Guilds can also declare their own faction. I have no idea how common that is in Korea and I also don't know how useful it is to do that.

From what I can tell the north continent has exclusive crafting materials, so I think the intent is that an organization claims areas, build castles on them, then other players build farms on that area to farm those exclusive materials and the castle owners charge rent. I don't know if that's how it works in practice though.

Cool. Just seems like players will have to adjust their crops to meet market demand, which is great.

Cow profitability will stay static even as the market fluctuates, profits are based on vendor price of milk. So unless Trion changes milk vendor prices, the above 24g/day/large farm values (edited) will stay the same.

The only thing that will change would be the feed and supplement cost offset sales. But if the market floods with these items, the cost will be next to negligible and offsetable with other means.

You said every 6hours though, so it's like 4times that assuming you check every 6hours right?

I would assume the costs for feed/supplement would only go down over time, the reason they're high early on is because you need a house to get a farmer workbench to make them, but iirc they don't have any actual skill requirement and the materials are very easy fast crops shit like barley, clover(which you can find everywhere just running around too) and so on.
