I don't see how this game would be any fun without a good guild. The PVE is horrible so pretty much everything that is fun is group PVP oriented. Once you get to mid 30s and get to contested zones, if you are solo you're probably going to get nonstop ganked by same faction players. The trade runs that require you to cross the ocean typically require a group as well. I suppose you could persevere without a guild but no idea why anyone would choose to do so unless they are a masochist.

Whatever you choose do it quick! Recruitment closing in a couple hours.

The process is a little antiquated and seems tedious but it really helps to get to know people and organize everyone.

So I clicked on that Pandemic video, which led to a streamer, which led to a video with a prx member raging at the streamer, not sure if I should post that lol.
Those Pandemic guys look like they have a lot of fun.

And yeah, that Pandemic video is good. That's pretty much how PVP is in this game, and why it looks like so much damn fun.

As in going "pirate" in game? Don't think many will bother, too many downsides. Just killing people on the ocean and taking their shit? Sure there will be plenty of that, but taking people's shit is just a small bonus, it's far, far more profitable to do other shit for gold.

If your piracy question is about PRX specifically? No. PRX will only attack enemy faction and same faction guilds that are KOS. So, not piracy, just war.

I think that's what a lot of people will end up doing. Primary char with one of the factions and an alt who is a pirate to mess around on.

On KR some of the pirate factions got so strong that they developed into more organized crime. Associates would just stand at trade pack turn ins and people would pay a toll. In turn the pirates would make the seas safe for travel.

The 1.2 patch. Which is what we have. The 1.7 patch is what brought it back to life. They've said they're working on the translations of it now.
