Anyone here playing a reaper can give me a breakdown of the class or a link to a good article? For example is there a bread and butter skill that is useful throughout the leveling process and should be taken as soon as possible?

You'll end up using Gilda stars for other things plus I'm pretty sure those quests still give experience. They're also essentially just cut scenes you can escape through. No reason to skip them.

Unless you hit a bottleneck on one with the rush for official launch, then sure skip past and come back to it a couple days later, but do them otherwise.

Don't forget that you can sell the stuff you buy with gilda stars on the market. (House plans/aqua farms etc.)

This game has legs... if the server community creates enough content for it and keeps it interesting by fighting each other. Many aspects of the game do not facilitate this well enough in my opinion, specifically many of the ways you can fight players in PvP do not give much reward. Unless you're hunting for prey on the open seas to get trade packs it's unlikely you'll be rewarded more than if you just sat and ground mobs. This is a problem that won't be fixed so we'll see how it goes.

But I think the next two months will be very fun either way!

Fair enough and thank you for the response.
I know it doesn't apply to mass but most of the people I know and even some of the ones I mentioned in that PM issue the other day don't really need rewards to enjoy end game. It does have to have in my case at least viable, fun pvp.
Warhammer didn't have any rewards really at the RR levels we were and we continued to play quite some time despite it( and bugs ). It does require being interesting enough and having enough community to keep those people together however. Once peoples core friends start to bail then it is pretty much done.

Yeah it's more like a private joke between Tuco and me, regarding TESO awful V10 grind. In Archeage there's no point getting to 50 ASAP if you don't have full farm capability. On my EU server there's already some people mailing you to buy Villanelle real estage for 200/500g for a lame 8x8 spot west of Lutesong.

That wat happens when some 100+ "hardcore" guild decides to do their 16x16 farm trade run with one clipper (awful graphics because +30 hours running client with memory leaks and shit).

We do enough runs now (like every couple hours) that we don't get those huge numbers. Though if the seas ever get dangerous we'll have to do them less frequently.

PSA: If you run toward the bus dudes too viciously you can get stuck inside his telescope. And if you attempt to go to the select character screen and log back in you'll be give the black screen of death and have to go through a 2100 person queue =(

can have a battlerage friend lasso you out in a duel, or backflip out with shadow, or use the escape skill to tp to the nearest rez point.

Sometimes you can mount your horse if it's nearby to get out of it. Or a friends horse.
