Nothing too juicy. A few people who were on the edge of the guild disappeared and let their properties expire.

Maybe I'm alone on this but when you're a part of a community and just one day disappear it's a little rude. I come to get to know people and think of PRX as my online family and when people fall off the edge of the world without leaving a note saying what's going on it's unkind.
I feel the other way. It's a game. My brief time in PRX was interesting. With mega-guilds there's always good and bad. But there was definitely a lot of "give give give to the guild" going on constantly (which I did). But to then shit on people because they get burnt out is childish.

It'd be different (and in maybe in that case it was) if the properties or gear or gold was given to them by the guild. But I got my properties on my own with my own money. I never got anything from the guild my entire time there beyond some groups (where we all pulled our own weight). I donated many many materials and multiples of the "required" amount of gold to the guild. PRX has no claim to random "edge members" anything, and to get pissy when people ghost in an online game (which should be expected), is just silly.

The effort would've been better focused on getting the "edge members" more integrated into the guild, giving people reasons to log in, making sure people knew their contributions were appreciated, and spreading the love a bit. Keep people playing, not crucifying them for burning out.

Doesn't take much to hit up an AFK thread and say you're peacing out for a bit. Certainly not the only one not playing anymore and its much faster than having to put in another app when the next game comes.

As for land, its valuable and there are plenty of people looking for it. Personally I gave my land to the guild among the plethora of other stuff because why not help out the people that I play with? I'm out anyway, if I want to come back I'm much more likely to get my shit back and I'm helping out good people that I know. Sure I can let it rot and let some hacker pick it up or random but why?

I can understand not wanting to liquidate your account because you may want to come back, but you can't keep land if you don't log in and pay taxes. That property and everything on it will get nuked. It's at least nice to offer it up to someone else who still plays.

I don't disagree that it'd be nice to log in and let someone have your land (in my case, I kept meaning to log in and keep the land until Auroria hit, but honestly just ended up forgetting until it was too late).

I'm saying that to deguild people over not doing it is childish. That combined with at least 3 guild-wide PMs from KV of GIVE ME ALL YOUR STUFF is a bad attitude.

PRX runs quite differently then most guilds. It is all about the guild and not the individual. You aren't gearing up the guild leader and his friends and then discarded. I can see why some would be put off by that, people want that personal fame and fortune. People also like being able to just come and go as they please and not have the responsibilty of calling in to work or let people know what's going on.

Should replace all your "me", "him", "I", with "Guild". Unless that is the slant you are going for, then by all means, carry on. That last sentence made me laugh.

I'm not going for any slant - just giving how things looked from my point of view. What made you laugh about it? It was the truth.

I was all about giving everything I could to the guild (and did) while I was there, and didn't take anything from it. But it was very clique-based (which is pretty hard to avoid in mega-guilds), which was then followed up with threats of disbanding if you didn't give your stuff to the guild. Surely you can see how that's off-putting and makes it look like the guild cares more about loot than people.

Funny stuff going on with the random boxes. Thunderstrucks finally took a dive down to 210ish on Ollo, there were 6 pages of them in the auction house. I bought one and now I'm wondering if I will lose it.

There's a huge exploit going on that basically allows people to choose what comes out of boxes (basically you make it so when you open a box you have no room except for the item you want which stacks with one already in your inventory). So any rare drops from boxes are getting hugely deflated in value.

Note that if you're in PRX using this is strictly a no go.

As someone who spends a lot of effort for PRX to have that many members I can guarantee you that I really care about the people in our guild. I've had a ton of fun in this game and made many memories with new people I've met. We all work hard building our characters and our loot, but it's the people you encounter and the fun you have with them that makes it worth doing.

I think anyone who enjoyed spending time in PRX village where we got some 70% of the land at release and have a consist 10+ players in the village on 24/7 understands why it's frustrating when someone doesn't care enough to take 2 minutes it takes to transfer properties and just lets the land expire and go to hackers. We've had a number of people who have done this and while it's a nuisance we forget about it and move on. But it was a special case for a few people who had some other strikes against them.

Our goal for everyone who joins is for them to become a long-time member and join us in future games. After competing in dozens of games over the last 15 years we know that loot and land, while important in each game, is transient and disappears before the next game. When someone blows us off it shows they don't care about us and should probably find a group of people they do care about. Does that make sense?

I'm not in PRX but I'd sorta have to side with them on this. They seemed pretty upfront about how serious they were as a guild in posts when recruiting. I'm pretty sure they explained things in even more detail during guild meetings for anyone who'd listen (which I'm sure they had and you attended) and those practice runs for things they were posting about.

Considering you knew what type of guild PRX was when you joined (seemed clear to me), being AWOL a week seems like a pretty big deal for a game like this and not just because of land issues. What if everyone burns out that same week, but no one figures to let the guild officers know and then they can't plan any defense/attacks/whatever because "where the fuck is everyone tonight/this week?". When you throw in land issues with hackslackers and knowing that's 50% of the game, you knowing you're burned out and not allowing the guild to even maintain/hold it until maybe you come back was uncool as well.

Sure, they aren't your Mom and Dad but you should know you owe your guildies some type of respect in that way in a PvP game. I mean, if it was a casual grabass PvE guild, who cares about anything? I'm in a few guilds like that myself; don't log in for two weeks, come back and it's like Cheers up in there... "Hey! Good to see you man! Where you been?"

I can't see how you're saying deguilding folks over no contact is childish though. You do realize that"I kept meaning to, but kept forgetting, but then it was too late" sounds exactly like the kind of thing a 13yr old child gives when asked why they didn't put the garbage out last night, right?

Anyone going AWOL without letting other people know OR a very good reason is an utter asshole. So you want to play with people with all the pros and none of the cons. Fuck that and fuck you.

Why would you lose it?
Well I didn't do any of this box opening stuff, but I might have bought a tree from someone that did. Dunno if they would do that or not. I slept for awhile and it is still there. Prices shot back up to 300 though for some reason. Still about the same amount for sale.

Based on them being able to track gold as it moves through the system (assuming they're not bluffing on that) I wouldn't be surprised if they smashed your tree. If I bought anything that I thought was exploited I'd probably liquidate it asap.

I think that's what Sorcerer did (GM of TWO, big western guild on Kyrios). He had 5 great success to get epherium gear to divine tonight in a 1.5 hour period. Everytime it happened the faction chat would blow up calling him a cheater, but I think he just had a bank full of upgrade scrolls and wanted to burn them before Trion processed the server logs and deleted any that were made by a suspect player.

I could make it into a solid shaft I guess, but if they nuked that it would be even more painful.

I guess the trail is randombox->sploited for a rumbling sapling->thunderstruck tree->auction house->dumbass buys it (me)

Then again I might have bought a perfectly legit tree that came from a pine or something.

If you have a tree I wouldn't worry about it, I was conflating it with a sapling for some reason.

Someone asked that same question on the forums Kharza and Scrapes came out and said you're safe. The ones who exploited will lose their gains. If they sold or traded the exploited items the items and gold they received for the exploited item will be removed instead. The exception to this is if the people who obtained the exploited item in tradeknewthe transaction was shady i.e. exploiters offloaded exploited items to alts/friends/guild members.

Your Tree shouldn't be removed since you got it on the AH. I picked up a few too to finish up my car.
