So, four seasons down and no real noticable drop in quality overall. They've managed to keep the bit characters (Cheryl, Krieger) funny and not completely trash them like most shows do, and the one that they expanded (Pam) turned out fucking hilarious as a field agent and I can't wait for more. WTB more Archer.

If I were FX or whomever is in charge, I'd sign for 4 more seasons today.

I think 4th season had a noticeable drop in quality. They need to start adding new characters, otherwise it's getting stale real quick. Armory Rodney and Ron Cadillac are an OK start.

3 and 4 were worse than 2, but that's just because 2 was fucktastically amazing.

I think that's kind of a theme with great shows. Season 2 of Justified was crazy good(Bennett clan), and season 2 of Community was it's best by far.

I guess it's a combination of the creators and crew really finding what works, and the novelty of whatever the show is still feeling fresh to us.

All 4 are great BTW, just that 2 was the amazingest. Though Decoy from this season is obviously the best episode. Of anything. Ever.

I rewatched some of Archer season 1 and I don't think it was as funny (overall) as most of season 4. A lot of the humor on Archer comes from the characters' personalities and the first season is lacking that because they haven't been developed yet.

I think some of the characters on Archer this season are getting a bit over the top but it's still easily the best comedy show on TV.

Eh, I think the show needs to shake things up, with either new characters or people in new roles. Ron Cadillac was a start (although they seemed to abandon him after, what, the Anthony Bourdain episode), and I could see Lana as Mother not accepting Archer's shit anymore, but when the big development of the season is that one of the office personnel becomes a surprisingly effective field agent, again, it's getting stale.

Don't get me wrong, for the TV season I'd rank my comedies as 30 Rock, Parks, and then Archer (while hoping Venture Bros slots in there somewhere), but imo its getting into the same kind of stale as Sunny in Philadelphia.

Well Lana's pregnant and Pam is gonna be a field agent, so that should definitely change some stuff up. This season had a dud or two, but it also had some epic episodes.
