Ronan with the Power Gem is like a low level cosmic being isn't he? Like a Stellar Cosmic or something, whatever their lowest classification is. I mean he was confident enough to threaten to kill Thanos once he decided to keep the gem for himself. And of course it ended with a care-bear stare, the MCU guardians are weak. It's basically an entire team of Black Widows and Hawkeyes, what could they possibly do against Power Gem Ronan?

As for Age of Ultron
People bitching about how this Ultron was portrayed just need to remove the sticks from their asses, I thought he was great. I don't expect or need him to be a direct copy of comic book Ultron, I expect him to be based on the idea of Ultron with a MCU spin, and he was perfectly fine for that. My biggest complaint about the movie was how they kept foreshadowing Hawkeye's death so incredibly blatantly that it made it obvious to me that it wouldn't be him who died. Although I suppose it would have been pretty funny if they actually killed him off after foreshadowing his death so aggressively, but I suspect that it would fly over the head of the average movie goer and they'd think all the obvious foreshadowing was stupid.

Not sure how much stock you put into the official Marvel Power Ratings and such but here you go for reference... I guess it really comes down to context, situations, scenarios, and just all the variables. Overall... it all seems relatively even.

Pretty fun looking at how the rankings go and then I wanted to see how they ranked Deadpools durability.... Holy hell, his power levels are ridiculous, Deadpools fighting skills should not be that much higher than Wolverines if at all. But off that chart Deadpool toys with him

that site has Deadpool with higher "energy projection" then Loki.

I cant believe how powerful Deapool is off that chart, he is almost up there with Thanos and more powerful then Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock. Why is his energy projection max?? I would also think intelligence woulc be lower

Well, he is LITERALLY unkillable. That's got to net you some major points just for that. The energy projection makes no sense as his weaponry is just guns, but I guess so is Iron Man's. If anything his speed and intelligence should be lowered. Though he does have a teleporter so I guess he's pretty fast as well. He should be more like:

Int 4
Str 4
Speed 5/6
Durability 7
Energy Projection 3
Fighting Skill 7 (he can beat Taskmaster, after all)

Power Gem has also historically gone to big lunking retards and augments their already powerful strength, and probably augments their small dick ego too.

So Ronan thinking he could beat Thanos w/ only a power gem, fantasy.

That's why I had mentioned that I wasn't quite sure how much stock you put into that even though it states "Official Rating". Who knows how (or even who) comes up with this stuff? Also makes you wonder why they even discuss "Omega level" mutants as something important or why we discuss celestial level beings or entities.

Kinda makes me miss my old comic card collection (which I still have somewhere lol) that had all the power level ratings. I believe Roma was the strongest of all the Marvel Comic book card characters and who's even seen her in anything.

IIRC though, those ratings are like a weird system. Like a "1" strength would be some one who struggled to lift 20 pounds. a 2 is a normal human and 3 is the beginning of 'super-human'.

I was surprised at Star-Lord also but I never read a ton of his comics,
http://marvel.com/universe/Star-Lord_(Peter_Quill)
Those are starlords ratings, before he was popular, those are his ratings when he took down a former Herald of Galactus, the fallen one. (he didn't have the Power Cosmic, but was Galactus' first Herald and powered by dark energy or some shit)

At least i'm assuming, otherwise how the fuck he has energy projection at 6, i don't know, and don't say element gun.

So what does it mean then when Peter Quill has the same speed as Eternity (http://marvel.com/universe/Eternity) ?? I never really understood how Marvel deals with characters like Eternity. Understood we are in a world of fiction and a lot of inconsistencies but just how deep do you dig with powers and abilities before things just get too crazy and hard to explain when or if their stories overlap. I guess I don't envy their position but maybe the Marvel universe is big enough you can avoid too many faults and plot holes.

I have always taken power ratings in comics with a large grain of salt. Most of the time it is simply plot armor based. Too many stories have the characters power level rotate around the plot.

See spiderman taking out firelord. Or something stupid like Batman vrs Superman. Yeah there are epic scenes and powerful images and stories, but so much of it is just writerwank.

ScreenCrush spotted the announcement, which came via an email from Amazon in which pre-order was announced, with both Blu-ray and DVD including "an extended version and an alternate ending."

There's no word yet regarding what those changes and extended scenes might be, though Joss Whedon has previously revealed that his original cut of the movie was more than three hours long, so there's no lack of potential materia

Eh, I really think it's on of those cases where they've upped his initial power set, like they do many heroes, because he becomes so popular.

I mean Wolverine, at his peak powers, was burnt by the sun, if I'm remembering correctly. All that needs to survive of him is one single cell and he could literally regrow from that.

Compare that to his early Uncanny X-Men days when his power set was much more down to earth and he could actually be killed.

I don't know what Deadpool's initial power set was but I'm pretty sure it's been upped a number of times. Wasn't he just initially an assassin with a healing factor stolen from/based on Wolverine's?

Do you know anything else about deadpool? He knows he's in a comic and cant die because Death likes him. He's insane from his cancer and the healing which allows him to beat characters like Taskmaster. His character isnt that old really, he was created back in 1990
