trailer has the funny, but holy shit they really waited too long to do the sequel. BBT looks positively ancient. and why is he still with that midget? didnt the midget and his wife try to murder him? is that all pushed under the rug? did they retcon the whole ending of the first movie? because BBT was living with therman merman til his father got out of jail. weird stuff. ill check it out, but wtf.

They mentioned his partner being released from prison, but more importantly its just a trailer. Wait until you see it before calling about plot holes

yep, saw that, but should the trailer of the sequel at least explain/show why they are buddies again and working the same santa and elf racket they were in the first movie?
look at this cash grab sequel trailer.
it explains why everything is why it is and why you should go see it. its not just a bunch of scenes thrown together. there is a thought process.

you're comparing apples to acorns. i am not talking about the movie, we are talking about the trailer and its lack of information. the zoolander film is a blatant cash grab, but they still managed to make a structured trailer that explains why its a sequel.
this trailer makes it look like they truncated the last half hour of the original film and are just going with showing you "hey remember this from the first movie? yeah we got it again but add 13 years! whats it about? fuck if we know, but look therman merman is older!"

Tony Cox (the lil black fella) is talking to BBT about getting a big scam together. BBT literally says "fuck you, how are you even out of prison?" and he says "time off for good behavior." That establishes all you need to know. Why would he decide to do it? He's a broke-ass piece of shit and easy money is easy money. Also because movies need these things called "plots" and that seems to make a good one.

the elf and santa thing is the same scam. but i must be taking crazy pills because the first movie ended with the midget trying to kill BBT and as a result it of BBT's note caused the midget to be arrested and sent to prison. one of those guys are no longer friends with the other. you dont go to lunch with that person and have a casual conversation with them, nor do you go back to doing the same thing that caused that person to try and kill you. they needed to address the elephant in the room. they did not.

FFS. Xevy already explained that they're only working together for the money and that they still hate each other. They didn't even like each other during the first movie but still worked together.
Nobody else needed this spelled out in the trailer because everyone else on the planet, but you, assumed this.
