Overall that entire last season was a a let down. Seems like they just wanted everything wrapped up and had no clue how to do it, so they went super convoluted with it.
The show also lost the comedy for the most part.
I don't want to say the season was bad. Just...not what I expected.
I think that they were definitely out of idea for Sally and Hank but Fuches' story wrapped up just like it should, he saved someone instead of corrupting them and redeemed himself.
Except that is what Fuches always did, he loves Barry no matter how many times Barry fucks him over etc.Except Fuches only "saved someone" from himself. Hank wasn't going to do anything to Sally or the son.
Him demanding Barry just to save Barry from his own demands doesn't make a lot of sense

He sacrificed his own family to save Barry's, it was alluded to but ended up being solidified as an 11th hour reveal that Fuches just wanted a family to replace his relationship with Barry the entire time. He'd given up on it a few times before to go after Barry but he let it all go in the end and also risked his life to get Barry's son out of the gunfight. Barry fucked him over multiple times by choosing acting, Sally, Gene, everything over Fuches when Fuches saw himself as the father figure and mentor for Barry. He created an army of Barry's because he thought that would make him happy then gave it all up so that the Barry that he actually wanted to look up to him would see what he did. He got to make one call that actually helped Barry instead of helping himself. He ended up being one of the more fleshed out characters in the series although that path could probably have been refined a bit more.Except Fuches only "saved someone" from himself. It was all his design but he chose Barry and Barry's happiness over himself in the end
The woman and child kidnapped by a murderous gangster are not in danger? Interesting take. Not sure you're understanding what I'm saying, or if you don't understand what was going on with Sally and Barry's son.
If I kidnap someone and don't kill them, I'm not "saving their life." He didn't go there to "rescue" them, because they were never in any danger from anyone other than Fuches. If Fuches told Hank he didn't want them, Hank would have just let him go. Fuches was the entire driving force behind them being kidnapped.
Nothing he did helped Barry in any way. And what would having a "family of Barrys" and then having them all killed needlessly prove? Barry doesn't even know anything about them. All he knows is Hank took his wife and kid to give to Fuches, then they all died in a pissing contest
You also realize choosing Sally, Gene, etc. over Fuches was all just 1 thing, right? He wanted to stop killing and become an actor. It's a stretch even calling that 1 "fucking him over" much less a lifetime of betrayals

You do understand that the characters do not have the same perspective as the viewer, right?Did you even watch the show?
