Random thoughts after playing for a couple hours.

So far so good, enjoying the class that can call in supplies so you can change your kit on the fly. Been great being able to switch between anti armor and anti air.

Turning off future frame buffering made the mouse aiming and everything feel normal, not sure what the plan was with that option but it sucks.

Maps are huge and once again good helicopter pilots will fuck you but a few rocket hits they go down and the flares cooldown is fairly slow.

Can't seem to find flight controls so nearly impossible to fly with keyboard and mouse currently.

TTK is about right, maybe a little slow but we will see as we can use to it.

No crashes, one bug so far. Friendly vehicles can squish you through walls, if you next to a wall and a hover craft or whatever hits you towards it you go right through.

Portal is going to be a hit, XP/leveling is waaaaay slower there so that will hurt the initial amount of people but once everyone has the unlocks they want it going to be worth the price of admission for sure. Played VIP mode and a gun game type so far.

The lack of weapons feels bad but gameplay is good and enough to do that you don't really notice, the upgrade system UI sucks balls they went for style of substance and it just feels clunky and slow.

If you waiting a month or so you are liking go to come in with a much better overall experience.

EA servers are fucked, can't connect to them to play.

Well good thing this launches this same week as WoW Classic. I can wait for a few days and see if this is worth getting. I like WW1/2 games more than modern military.

Servers back up, found flight controls but helicopter and plane are the same key binds which is insane.

And yet people keep lining up to preorder/buy on release despite these being complete trash year after year. Works as intended.

I pre-ordered it at 60 dollars, played the beta, gave them feedback, then DIDN'T refund it.

I still can't play until next week unless I pay another 30 dollars.

I haven't encountered any of the bugs, but generally don't care about them since they usually get fixed eventually. But the game is just battlefield CoD.

I'll probably still get my money's worth since I've itching for a fps to sink my teeth into, but if you're not, you might as well wait for a sale.

Well, the game is better than the beta, that's for sure. It's still buggy, but it's not unenjoyable which beta was by far. The biggest problem I have is the fucking 2002G error that doesn't let me or anyone I play with match-make to their default servers. They said "we're working on it!" and 13 hours later it was still fucked.

The work around is playing through Portal and playing the new maps on somebody's custom server. But there are many problems with that:

A: You don't get nearly the exp you'd get for regular modes because people were abusing custom lobbies to boost levels a la Neverwinter Nights Online. So all "ribbons" are disabled (no headshot, multikill, etc) which is a huge exp reduction.
B: You're subject to the servers rules. For some really fucking dumb reason people love Hardcore. Hardcore is basically CoD and Counterstrike in the worst possible way. Every gun outside your pistol 1 shots. Sniper? Shootem in the dick. They're dead. LMG? 100 bullets are 100 dead people. Your UI is also limited so you can't see where you died from (hello campers!) and the only upside I found was Tanks/Helicopters died about 2-4x faster than in the regular mode.
C: The teams don't seem to re-balance. I won like 12 in a row because our team was less retarded and the other team just kept quitting having AI replace them. Not a fun game when you don't even have to play any objectives.

Overall I'd say wait on buying it, definitely don't pay 90 fucking dollars for the early release. The day one patch will certainly help, but there's some stuff it won't. I have a 8700k and 2060S and I get maybe 60FPS at all medium or low settings. Luckily being a shitter for years playing games at 45-60fps I can handle, but the Hz queens won't be able to deal. Controls for MOST vehicles are in for PC which helps, but still a bit wonky flying shit compared to sticks. Guns aren't bad except the starter sniper is complete dogshit and hitting some one 3 times and not killing them at 200m feels like you should just be run-n-gun instead. The later weapons are definitely better stat wise. The game IS fun, but with friends. Playing with a full squad we were having a blast, but the second people started logging the fun just started sinking. That and then the 2002G error started to pop up every match. Literally every match. Queue 10-15 in a row, no luck.

Game is fun when you CAN play it, a lot of people CAN'T and most people SHOULDN'T right now. I'm sure a lot of the little persnickety shit like invis walls and clipping and RELOAD being stuck on my screen with a 100/100 Mag while get fixed up in due time.

TLR It's better than the beta was, but don't buy it early. Make sure they fix shit before you buy it if you're on the fence. I also played one BF3 Portal and it was hot dogshit. Hardcore rules so snipers on skyscrapers just instantly killed you with knee-shots and I was actually bugged and couldn't attack the enemy and could only friendly fire my team. Very cool.
