Bro it was the Alexandria of lol's and entertainment if nothing else.
Funny stories, funny irl pics and vids, chops, banter and interesting duscussion on every topic you could imagine (e.g. foreskins). All the in-site vernacular just enhanced the whole experience imo. As some local pointed out above the attention whore multis have always been an issue on misc but there used to be more than enough interesting content ticking over constantly to be able to selectively drown them out.
There have still been specks of the old misc over the years but it really was a massive dopa hit you could read on the go anywhere.
