We get the 24th/25th and 31st/1st off as holidays. I always have enough vacation time saved up that I take the last week of December and first week of January off. It's nice to be a bum for two weeks but I'm actually ready to go back to work at the end just to do something.

100%. I think there was a chance to save the misc with that forum, and admin did a good job setting it up and designing the site, but I think it's cooked. I don't have much hope for its future because, unfortunately, the guy who undertook saving the misc happened to be someone that seems to be in love with the very thing that will ultimately kill it.

That's true, and with all that baggage of his supposed philosophy he effectively deleted my thread by relegating it to the new garbage can of his website (which he interestingly created not long after that thread). So he's not even a free speech absolutist. He's a biased guy who seems to be happy with what wincels says and how he acts. I didn't see any of wincel's threads in this new section.
Doesn't surprise me for the kind of people I am used to seeing running sites like that. Seems to always come with the territory. I didn't even bother creating an account there, don't see the point. I already know one of the moderators to have been an asshole user and their gaming and politics boards are totally dead. Even their misc section only seems to be getting slower and full of trolling. Much more active and better conversations to be had around here, and I have really lost interest in forums anyways.
It's not a good design layout wise though - unless it's been changed since then.
