Mist Mist not a buy at full price. Will be on sale within a month.

For PC: Origin Premiere for $14.99 and you will get your month out of it.
For Xbox One(X) $4.99 for EA Access and you will most likely burn out in 10 hours within the trial period.

Mission design is about as stale as it gets within 4 hours. Bugs galore. Give it a couple months and buy it on sale for 19 bucks or rental on GF.

1) They need to generate better mission variety. Quickly.
2) Fix (If they can) the incredibly retarded UI. Jesus whoever designed that piece of shit should be banned from working in the industry.
3) Needs about 6 patches to fix all the bugs.
4) Needs a shit ton more itemization and specialized high end hand crafted loot and carrots to chase.
5) Needs to figure out a way to get more than 3 other players other than yourself in their entire damn world.
6) Run speed needs to increase in Tarsis by about 600%.
7) Needs more than 10 hours of content. At what pace remains to be seen at how fast they can add it. It needs to come quickly.
8) Allow players to continue more than 3 quests while in free roam before, oh guess what, you no longer get XP. (Why the fuck was that a design choice?) Leaving you to have to load into Tarsis and load back into freeroam. Shit show.
9) If it is even possible at this point, fix ALL the mundane and absolutely useless needs for loading for the most basic of shit. I should be able to load into a world, and go into a damn cave without hitting another load screen.
10) Ability to change your load outs on the fly without having to visit the forge. I mean, come on.
11) Fix their retarded tethering system. It shouldn't even exist in the first place. But wait, there's more... If you need to be roped back to your group you get treated with another 25 second load screen.

It's just one big ball of blah at the moment.

I'm waiting for the guy to complain about another game, ruining his game. Sorry but that was a weak ass excuse for how badly Andromeda did.

So, having played it for a few hours now, part of me says, "This is really cool" the combat is really good. This is what it seems like they were working towards with ME:A. The rest of the game, the parts of the game built around getting to the combat, are by themselves not terrible but the way they fit together collectively is tragically awful. Who the fuck played this and thought "this is a great game/this game is ready to ship?" When I saw that this was getting comparable reviews to Fallout 76, I at first guffawed, but having played it myself, I can see where that might be the case for some people. EDIT: and that isn't even counting on things like the above, where you can't do more than 3 missions in "freeplay" etc. Destiny came out in 2014: How can you not even by that good? Why do my daughter and I have to do missions with people we don't know? I mean, not a big thing but given the level of voice comms I have heard before, why can't I choose not to? So many baffling and stupid design decisions. They seem baked deep in the cake though, so I don't know how they get this is made right at this point. This is a launch driven by the Fiscal Quarter end and this project's need to make money, and be rid of the dumpster fire, I think. I really do believe that they are giving this game a viking funeral, cutting their losses, and probably the studio with it.

Whomever up thread said it seems like all of the parts were built by different teams and then brought together too late in the project is right. The load times are completely unacceptable in 2019. There is a kernel of good lore but it seems so half-assed it wastes the good ideas but making it all seem so shallow. The whole effort to make the world seem lived in cheapens the whole enterprise. Cities are destroyed, factions rise and fall but if you don't anchor the characters and ground the story before you turn on the blender, its all word salad. If everyone's been everywhere, there why does any place matter? There is no sense of setting at this point at all.

So, I am not going to stop playing but I don't see how Bioware pulls this out of a nosedive. Hopefully I am wrong, and it gets better, and sells a bazillion copies, and I learn to love Big Anthem Brother. There are some really great nuggets here that I have seen, and obviously people like it enough to play it through to level 30+. In the end, I think this is going to be far more like the Division than like Destiny, and the Bioware name going into the pile of studios out behind EA's house.

Got my Ranger up to 488 ilvl and the MW's and legendary's ain't dropping like they were the past 2 days. Think I'm about done, as I'm getting a ton more bugs today than the past week and I don't really have a carrot to chase (no exotic tier loot, no fancy schmancy armor to chase etc). What a disappointment, Mass Effect did not die for this =(

Shit is definitely disappearing on PS4. After I asked about the disappearing assault system last night, a legendary marksman rifle disappeared. Looked for it for 10 minutes. Just logged in today and it's back in inventory.

Those of you saying drops were reduced, what Luck are you running? Drops in Freeplay feel the same to me, drops in GM1 Contracts seem as bad as normal, while drops in Legendary GM1 Contracts seem less.

I'm starting to think that doing good dmg in GM1+ is too reliant on getting nice perks, at least for guns and Ranger skills.

I’m playing this on the PS4 with a friend, and we’re having two extremely different experience so far.

He’s disconnecting every time he accepts a new missions from talking to an NPC on from a board, disconnects half the time we enter a mission or free play, disconnect all the time a mission ends or we end freeplay. He’s having a terrible time.

Me on the other hand, I’ve disconnected once when I ended the tutorial and was about to enter Tarsis for the first, and I had one crash while in freeplay...and that’s it. Other than these 2 occasions, the game has been flawless for me. Heck if I wasn’t playing with my friend or reading the internet I would say this is a perfect launch. ;)

Obviously not having any connection or bugs has allowed to truly enjoy the game so far. I’m not that far in since I only advance the story and missions with my friend on and he’s not having a great time so he’s not playing as much as he would otherwise and even when he does I have to wait on him a lot because of all the disconnect.

When we are on missions and freeplay we are having a great time. I said that during the demo. Regardless of all the issues, I have tons of fun once in my javelin and flying around the world shooting stuff up. I still have no idea what abilities I want to go with in my Storm, all seems pretty fun so far. I think Ice Storm is going to be one of my favourite, aoe freeze primer is just too good I think, I hope there’s good gear build to make use of it at end game...just level 9 right now so still ways to go.

I’m enjoying the story and side missions so far.

They need to reduce the loading screens, I don’t mind when going on mission and when ending the mission..l’IUT forge loading screens have to go, that just fucking annoying.

I’m having fun, looking for more Tomorow.

i'm clearly playing a different game than all those reviews. i mean anthem is far from perfect but it's not that bad.

Maybe the trash review rags have finally started using the 100 score correctly and are just scoring it as above average instead of lumping everything into the 75-100 range.

i don't know, i mean i think that's still wrong though. like 65 if a failing grade. if we are using typical grading scale i'd say this is a high C (graded lower for all the bugs, graded higher and thus negating the lower grade for how quickly they are addressing the bugs).

Did Destiny 2 get such a bad rap for loading times? Queueing up was several minutes for match making. Then flying once a match was found was at least as long as Anthem. I think the huge miss on Anthem's part is how much perception of loading plays a factor in the experience. They also missed a big opportunity to encourage spending on vanity items. IE put the 4 javalins in some loading bay and let people see fancy emotes/appearance while its 'loading' and be somewhat interactive.

Destiny was smart about loading screens, you generally only had to go through one and then you were in something for 20 (pvp) to 45+ mins (pve) without any more loading screens. There was the issue of landing on a planet and going back to the ship but again usually that only involved one loading screen, whereas Anthem has CONSTANT loading screens at every step, its just ludicrously bad how it can feel sometimes especially when playing through the campaign. There are numerous times where you literally sit through 5 mins of loading screens for a mission that lasts 4 minutes.

They also let you do shit while waiting in matchmaking, like you could change loadouts, dismantle stuff, and do just general housekeeping while matchmaking. Plus when you did load into multiplayer free zones (social space, freeplay areas) it was 4-16 players, whereas Anthem is always 4 which is incredibly weird in 2019.

Something is off, and I'm not talking a very minor problem, either the DB is stressed or EA's servers are hosed(more then likely), I will say that it does look really good, but other then that from a technical stand-point(ala Destiny/Division etc) it is not really impressive..

I enjoy the combat mechanics of Antem so far and more interesting legendary gear could make it even better. Given games like Tabula Rasa, Destiny 2, Defiance, Rift etc the enjoyment of freeplay events is a wreck. The problem I see is that part of the mechanics I see is the Combo/AE mechanics that give a single individual a lot of responsibility/control over handling swams of mobs. This would be a lot more boring and less gratifying in a 10+ player event.

Who knows how hard it would be for them to implement larger numbers in freeplay but at a minimum they could improve the map/gathering options to get people to come together for events instead of people often doing their own thing on the map and often not because they are super anti social but with no chat/gathering options its a huge PITA to get together in freeplay.

The most disappointing aspect of Anthem is that the actual combat in stronghold scenarios is really good, and very fun.

It's just the rest of the game is lacking the polish seemingly put into the 4 man combat system.

When i ran my first two GM1s - the MWs were raining then after that it turned into just 1 per for the last 6-7 strongholds.
