Sooo, what happens now that Trump has come out against BTC? Can't imagine it's good news for BTC. Maybe neutral news at best? Any predictions?

Biden is supposedly going to address cryptos role in terrorist/extortion hack attacks too...

Trump came out against it so the administration will be forced to support it.

Trump 100% has to be against Bitcoin. He's the America first guy. BTC threatens to disrupt USD's world reserve status which is bad for rich Americans, and good for the rest of us (stops the hollowing out of middle america by exporting USD and importing everything else). Hard to tell what kind of effect he'll have on markets though.

In possibly related news Jack spoke this weekend. I'm not a huge fan of the moves they've made at Twitter obviously, but he is super BTC bullish. Pretty strong endorsement.

If I wasn't working with Square and Twitter I would be working on Bitcoin. If I thought Bitcoin would benefit from it I would leave Square and Twitter to work on it

Regarding Square's commitment to Lightning Network
Everyone around the world needs to transact in Bitcoin every day... The only reason Square got into BTC in order to enable people to do that. Thats why we don't interact with any other "coins". Bitcoin is the native currency of the internet.
Sphinx.chat is amazing... Square crypto has been focused on making sure that any wallet can enable Lightning... We're considering building a non-custodial hardware wallet, open source, collaboration with the community... accessible by 100m Cashapp users... Wallstreet can't, and never will control Bitcoin

DoJ Press conference about ransomware attack at 3:15p EST today. Supposedly crypto will be mentioned. If I was a swing trader I think I'd be ready for this.

Incidentally Bitcoin's mempool cleared for the first time in months on June 2nd and has been clearing periodically since. (meaning all transactions were processed, even the cheapest ones) Bitcoin fees are still very low when the bulls aren't stampeding. A nice thing about Lightning is that you can wait a long time to close your channel without much inconvenience so you can simply wait it out for lower on-chain fees before closing.

How?

above my head but the whole point is every transaction has a record via ledger. which "presumably" would make it more safe than having a couple suitcases of cash money in the governments perspective since the banks are actually the criminals and fund them...?

Goverment can track your bitcoin transactions.
I get they found the wallet, that’s kinda duh with a public ledger. I want to know how the FBI ended up with the private key. That could mean big, bad things depending on the answer.

I think more accurately they tracked to bitcoin wallet address, then the second they used any offramp to get it to FIAT they swept in and had leverage to make whatever service they used hand it over.

And to think today was feel good until an hour ago. Then another flash crash on the lower time frames and.....

If you remember I said I'd be optimistic if it closed a candle or two above my wedge there... it didn't.
The inverse is also true if it closes 2 full candles below it. If that happens, then it's "look out below" to the $30k level, possibly to $27k or so. Downward fib retracement shows the 1.618 at under $20k....

Not really, there's no way the government breaks SHA-256 and wastes it on $2M.
I don’t attach common sense to anything the government does, but I do find this to be the least likely answer. There’s definitely something squirrelly that went on here though

It's not that complicated and it's not the first time this has happened. Wallet transactions are easily traceable and when the money moves from one wallet to to another owned by an entity that the US government can leverage, they get their money.

Lots of South and Central American countries now indicating some form of BTC adoption. Brazil, Panama, Guatemala, El Sal... Market shits the bed in response.
