Price on campbx is still $739. Not sure of the volume on that exchange since their bank stopped allowing ACH to and from the site. Guess that is the problem with bitcoin becoming so popular, the traditional banks view it as a threat.

Well, at least the user had to actually install the malware, as opposed to getting browser-owned or just remotely owned ...
People are smart and will never install shit with malware, said no one ever.

If anyone here is running a scrypt miner, MAXCOIN is 2-3x more profitable to mine right now. It requires KECCAK instead of scrypt but it wasn't that hard to find a cgminer version that supported it.

EDIT:
I'm glad you had the urge to send a small message pointing out my error, and giving me points for it, Tubro. If only we had some sort of nets system for the common member to do the same. Think of the laughs and giggles that might provoke

I believe this is known as the "molestus ad nauseam" argument.

All this hacking and dodgy exchange business is just a symptom of the currency being absolutely worthless. When it fails, shit like that will get blamed instead of looking at the actual faults of the currency.

I think it's probably on it's terminal decent now and will be selling bounces. I doubt it will ever see 1k again.

Funny that, a lot of people said the same thing when it hit $250 for the first time. It fell to ~$50, then it rebounded to nearly $1500.

Also, hilarious that "all this hacking and dodgy exchange business" is a symptom of anything whatsoever in your mind, because absolutely nothing dodgy happens with paper currency, ever, right? What a ridiculous argument.

Bitcoin has a long way down before I begin to regret my investment.

It's funny how when a bitcoin bubble pops and it loses half its value in days, all these naysayers come out and say 'we told you so!' completely ignoring the fact that the value increased far more than it lost when the bubble expanded. Meanwhile I could order shit from overstock.com and tigerdirect and pay for it with my bitcoins right now and not even worry about transfers to bank accounts. I already make occasional purchases from tiger, so I could just pay with my bitcoins as a way to cash in a small amount of my investment; it would be less obnoxious than entering in my credit card number and said number would not be saved in a company's database that might get hacked one day. Incidentally we are all paying for CC theft by higher merchant fees as they pass the CC fees down to us.

Bitcoin still has huge ease of use problems, and the clients are developing far slower than I would have expected, but there are actions one can take to reduce risk of theft. I.e. multiple wallets, offline/paper wallets, etc. I would imagine one day there will be small portable wifi using devices that serve only as a bitcoin wallet so that you aren't running any other software on the device that has your wallet on it.

I've got a handful of friends that send me every tiny anti-bitcoin article or news item they can find, along with some "prob should get out now" reminder. They're ALL bitter that they didn't listen to me a year ago when I said they should get some. They're bitter, jealous, and just want to watch BTC lose because the idea that they themselves missed the boat is just disgustingly intolerable to them.

What, that's it? That's the strength of your argument? I'm blown away.

I did "poorly" with my bitcoin investment. Only got a free computer out of it. Looks like you missed the boat and can't quite get over it. Better luck next time.
