I use the direction keys for movement and surrounding keys (Numpad, DEL, END, etc.) for abilities.
That's the old maplestory key setup isn't it? Do you just play shai/casters in BDO or what, doesn't seem like you can do much combo'ing like that.
Having a long term goal in BDO is pretty good, since you can get there at your own pace and be pretty assured in knowing that your goal most likely won't become irrelevant. Take breaks as needed to keep your sanity, then come back and have fun.I'm still debating what to use the timepiece(s) on. The Maegu looks cool, seems to flow better than Woosa, I may keep her to level up for next season.
I'm thinking of using 1 timepiece on a Corsair. I had one on the Xbox but don't have one on the PC.
The other would go either on Guardian or Lahn I think.
I actually never had a T8 courser, never got lucky with the skill. I should have used my coupons, I have close to 30 I think. Well my latest T8 has 6 skills so far with 4 levels to go. I'll use the coupons to get the 7th skills this time around if it doesn't get it on it's own.
I've been collecting wood for the Epheria Sailboat on and off for a long time, damn it needs a lot of Logs. Finally got everything, have 8 workers working on it now 24/7. Then work will start on upgrading it.
I've also started doing dailies for Forest Path Wagon. I think that's 20 days of dailies. The biggest issue with that is that it requires the Grana 4 house to build it, and it's obviously where I have my main house. So I will have too move.
There's something about the grind about everything in the game that in some ways is annoying, but also it's the only game that doesn't give you everything within a month of little to no effort, so you have long term goals. Not sure if that's truly good or not...but it does mean I have things to do for a long time as I am slow to get anything done, I dabble in everything and don't play all year round.
Like 99% of things in Black Desert, it's ALWAYS time better spent just grinding silver and buying it off the AH. Unless you play 24/7 or started the game way back in the day and cornered a market to build billions and billions in capital, you just won't have the ability to make RNG come out "ahead" for you in the end.So I was looking to upgrade my horse. Was riding a T7 I have been slowly leveling up but I don't think it's going to make it to courser status.
Found a T8 female that could still be bred with 16/20 skills with 5/7 courser skills. I had 6 skill change coupons from somewhere and thought, "let's see what happens". It was only after I saw the percentages of the remaining skills did I realize the mistake I made. Only 10% ish chance for either of the remaining 2 skills. Crap.
Somehow fortune smiled on my ignorant ass and I grabbed both skills with the 6 coupons.
Cool I now have a T8 female breedable courser.
So I pay the breeding fee and 2 hours later bam I have a second T8 female.
I have a single breeding reset coupon I am going to use on the first female.
I decided to try my hand at T9 awakening next. I had a bunch of free blue mats that were going to sit there forever otherwise.
I loaded the horse up with everything I had and barely made the 200% limit and just laughed when I saw the 1% chance. That's where my luck stopped.
Only lost about 70 million in mats that I could have sold.
That's probably the last time I try that unless I am drowning in silver.
Still a T8 with S. Instant acceleration is about as good as it gets until you get your private horse jet.
But yeah, my amateurish horse speculation actually paid of so far. Just need to level another horse to 30 and see what rngesus gives me.
Overall, horse breeding is insanely rng dependent and the volume of horses you need to be leveling up is beyond what I want to do with my time. And I know most training takes place while afk, it's still a lot.
That may be true but it's a lot more fun to do things your own way, make mistakes, etc., and learn for yourself. You're gonna value that dream horse you made yourself a lot more than one you bought, the same with that pen you tapped yourself. I'm guessing most of us here aren't playing to be extra sweaty pvpers with something to prove, so have fun.Like 99% of things in Black Desert, it's ALWAYS time better spent just grinding silver and buying it off the AH. Unless you quit the game altogether because the frustration of RNG makes you ragequit. BDO is a fun game, but you'll save yourself a LOT of annoyance by just grinding most things and circumventing bad RNG. Sure, fuck with lifeskills, CP, all of that stuff. Because even if those systems aren't as "efficient", you're still technically making silver/progress, albeit just at a slower pace. Fucking yourself via bad RNG is resetting/backtracking and that will eventually feel like shit and cause people to quit. You're gonna value that dream horse you made yourself a lot more than one you bought, the same with that pen you tapped yourself.

I'm simply advocating that people value their "time" more and save themselves the pain.
Well I talked myself into installing this again. For the third time.
Started on the season server with a Maegu, mostly just to get my bearings about the game again. This isn't my first go around restarting the game, so I already know it'll take time to remember what all the items in my inventory and banks are for. I started on the "veteran" story path, which I'm not sure was the right move (level 20 and haven't fought anything).
Planning on playing it until I can get whatever the max I need for the good shit at the end of the season. Last time I played I really enjoyed my Lahn, started on a season server. So that'll probably be my main again (first go around was with a DK). Any advice on what I should do would be appreciated though. I'm assuming the Kzarka weapon was my season conversion.
Mentioned it a few times in this thread, but also have a Dine dream horse that I bred from scratch. Looks like I've got +5 Granverre on all slots, dunno if that's good or anything.

Regarding the time piece, it kinda is. When you click the time piece, you will have to choose one of your other characters (under level 25 i think is the limit). Your current season character will become a standard character and the lowbie you picked will become a season character with the same level and skill point total of your previous season character (your original character retains its level and skill point total as well. More or less, level up a season character and get a bonus character for free. The season gear you were using stays season gear for the newly time pieced character to use and you will get a set of tuvala weapon swap coupons to change the weapons over.Oh, I thought the timepiece was basically trading your season character for a different class. You get to keep everything?
Any advice on end of season reward? And what to pick for Cloud accessory?
