I also recommend doing the story quests, only because I read that "The Rainbow Battlefield" in Mirvana is absolutely amazing to run repeatedly. For one, it's 295 exp per energy. It's not the best, but it's high (4P is 260). It's apparently significantly better zel than doing jewel dungeons though; wiki says it averages out to 98k. And add into that you get karma, exp, and items/fuse mats and it's hard to beat.
I also swear I saw something when I was looking up spheres and it only drops there, but I have no clue what it was.
Edit: It may have been Riff Feathers for Sol Creator, but that apparently drops in a few other places in Mirvana, so I don't know that that was it.
I'm currently in Agni (just before Mirvana) and I get like 25k zel and a ton of karma and exp. It's still pretty cheap on the energy too, at maybe 10-15 per.

Finished Eze and got Batootha, holy shit, he hits like a truck! Had to gem twice, one gem was my fault, as I messed up my swipe and attacked with Themis instead of healing.
Nope have not updated to 8 yet, I'll try it again tonight. No clue why they just don't make it the default.Did you do the newest update? It wasn't really required unless you were using iPAD. I held off on doing it, so I am glad I did

Rainbow battlefield is for the other component for sol creators - jade shard IIRC ? They drop other spots, but lots from there, and the cash is great, so why not ?
The problems I saw that make them a sidegrade -Ulkina: Awesome unit taking up multiple rolls. Healer/debuff remover/debuff protector. I want one!
Rowgen: New Lilith, but does not spark / generate BC like Lilith does. Meh
Narza: Darv > Narza > Oulu. Darv attacks, generates BC, enough said. No defense buff. Lilly still better. Rather take Darv + Lilly over Narza + someone else generally.
Kuhla: Will take her if I get her but won't roll for her. Michelle's elemental buff still useful. Would swap out depending on dungeon / element. BC regen is not bad. Needs more BC for BB/SBB.
Kuda: YES PLEASE. 40% crit / 100% attack. Great attack and SBB damage. No element buffs again so michelle/sgx may be better for some things still. Heaven wing Blade = crit cap still. Only 15% less attack power than michelle, and you can add another unit!
Tia: I just want her because rashil is my only healer.
Ulkina - kind of a combo between exvehl and altri. Suboptimal for FH due to low SBB hits. Suboptimal for trials due to no SBB heal ( altri SBB saved my ass a few times ). Theoretically better than Exvehl for BB spam.
Rowgen - sidegrade for lilith - useless in fh due to single hit sbb, better damage, slightly worse BC gen for trials but doesn't stack well. Limited for BB spam teams due to fierce competition for pure dps spot
Narza - sort of oulu+lilly - useless in fh due to no attacks. BC regain tied to SBB so not viable replacement for Lilly in trials, works as Oulu replacement. Useless for BB spam teams due to no attacks
Kuhla - michele v1.5 - strictly worse than michele in fh due to lower SBB attacks and no fire buff. Has no specific role for trials. Debatable replacement for Michele in BB spam due to lower SBB attacks and no fire buff plus Michele being bottom priority for BB spam buffers.
Kuda - weak michele + weak sgx. worse than michele in FH due to no fire buff, potentially worse than SGX in FH due to no dark buff ( grah can cover so not as bad as fire ). Has no specific role for trials. Great sub in BB spam but who are you going to kick ? Damage mit and Status prevention are a given for hard content, which leaves you the choice of kicking Elza and her 70% spark buff, or kicking Maxwell. Competition for spot 5 dps is super fierce. Amanohabaken blade argument is bunk also, you can't use them with stat gems, which are a given for hard content. Champion unit for crit teams, but crit teams are not what they once were.
Tia - greatest of the pure healers. Downside is no side benefit like altri status removal, likely to be extremely useful in trials though. ( From Maxwell I had to risk Altri frequently to heal instead of guard because other guys were too low health to survive even guarding - Tia's SBB heal over time is so strong it's like altri using his BB 3 turns in a row. ). No spot in BB spam or FH hunter due to no attacks.
Overall having two dps spots and four dps buffs is really limiting, I think i am going to have to spreadsheet up some stuff to see what you are sacrificing for given subs. Overall I think it's past the point where there's ever going to be a one true optimal solution, everything is going to depend on what you are facing.

I wish I knew what kind of teams Ushi runs. I can see your reasoning, but then I look at his rankings and wonder where the discrepancy lies, as he has Kuhla and Kuda in his top 10. I can't imagine he's ranking them as stand-alone units, because that makes almost no sense.
He does ;p He actually says that at the start of his videos, diff between Michele and Kuda in his rating (90 vs 93) is that Kuda has a better BB, and his leader skill is really good in arena.
It's pretty hard to rate units if you don't do it in isolation, have to make too many assumptions about how the rest of the team stacks up.

I rolled an ulkina and rowgen out of 4, third roll was my third davenshall, wife says i could make use of that later with maxwell trials at least, but im still just trying to lvl up past 110. Forth roll was something shitty. Not bad i guess, but since i just started comiccon week i have no more keys for metal parade, and just barely have a team of 5, 6 stars.

Im almost anal retentive about how I spend my last 20k exp. I am so used to exp values for certain events/quests that I know exactly what level I need to do to finish my night at <5 energy at 6000 - 5001 exp away. This way, I can run a metal parade in the morning 6 times to level and then another 6 times after I level. Energy gain during leveling has became really stagnant in the 100's so I pretty much dont ever have to change my strategy.
I'd suggest never honor summoning unless it's a crystal event. Or sphere frog event now I guess.
