Not sure where you're at, but I recommend running the shit out of the highest lvl of the Karma vortex dungeon that you can to level up.

If you have any harder content, my Kira lead should be able to solo most of it. If not, I can put up Selena or a mitigator.

It's essentially cooperative content (although you can solo if you want) featuring bosses. All of the trash mobs are super easy trash. The bosses, however, are significantly harder. You can use them to farm for really good spheres (mostly Malice Jewel). They also give you a bunch of gems and sphere frogs when you gain RC levels (finishing out the raid set).

The Appinvasion JP forum is a really good place to go to get the scoop on what's coming. They've got months of testing the content before we get it (so Grand Quests, future GGC's and Trials, etc).

I've got a really good Mecha team going now. Selena (lead), Tridon, Shera, Kira, Arus, and a Feeva friend. I'm not sure why that would be surprising as a good team since it's got 3 fucking 7* units, but whatever. Selena covers all the heals, Kira for crit buff (which helps out on damage immensely), and then Tridon/Shera for defense. Feeva didn't actually provide as much help in the BC generation as I anticipated, so there were a lot of turns without mitigation. I'm thinking part of that is that Arus doesn't do enough though. Anyway, I was glad to have a team finally that can plow through it in under 5 minutes without a lot of dying.

Tomorrow I'll be able to evo Atro to 7*. My day-to-day squad will be Kira (lead), Atro, Selena, Elza, Maxwell. There's a good chance I swap Selena out for Cardes though, as I've got him jacked up with almost 4k attack right now.

The only thing that is throwing me off is I'm underestimating the amount of money I need as fusing units gets really expensive at higher levels. I had ran the gold dungeon a bunch over the weekend and had about 500k banked up but getting the units off the Eze, Atro and Magress dungeons up to 3 star and now 4 star is killing me. I could have my breaker Atro at 4* right now but I have no money. Is there any other way to get money other than what for a gold parade key?

You can try running the first levels of GGC's for a few hundred thousand. Level 1's are 100k at the end, and level 2's are 500k (level 2 might be hard at your level though).

Frontier Hunter is a good way to get a lot of zel fast. Unfortunately season 12 just ended, so you'll have to wait about another 3 weeks.

Edit: I also wouldn't bother leveling up the starter units right now. Go with good rare summon units first, because the starters are shit until 7*. Although, then again, thinking about JP, lots of people were able to get 7* units by level 30-40 by using Selena friends. I may have to rethink that.

For now I'd just focus on leveling that Shera up. When the next good rate up comes (probably either player's choice or an element one hopefully) I'd burn a ton of gems on summons. Otherwise you don't really have all that many units at the moment (for comparison, you can see my units in the link I post; I've been playing JP casually since about November to give you an idea of what you can accomplish).

I would go and burn through as much questing as you can (with Shera it should be cake, even if it takes time) to farm up some gems. Make sure you hit every FH as much as possible. Events are good too (farming up crystals on level 1 of these starter dungeons is insane).

Ok, so rare summons seem to be the only way they make money...

What are other possible revenue streams that they could use that wouldn't be a total "Fuck You" to the player base?
Comparing PAD and BF, there's a bunch of things I like in BF better, but PAD makes a ton more dough. If Gumi is going to survive they need SOMETHING else. They give away a ton more gems than PAD does, so I think they could actually utilize as a currency better because of that (you can save a ton of Gems up in BF while in PAD they're still a bit more limited if you aren't doing IAP).

Imp Keys that are similar to metal/jewel but can only be bought with Gems? Maybe limit it to 5 runs or 2 hours, whichever comes first.
Time-limited dungeons (similar to parades, where they are only open for an hour) that allow for better farming?
"Purchase" to open some of the non-REM dungeons (Battle Maidens can be opened for a day for ~5 stones)?

there's a new game out that's similar to this called final fantasy record keeper. It uses all the characters from the ff series; and the "pulls" are equipment upgrades, like the buster sword for cloud, ect ect. pretty neat concept. got me hooked!

also just found out, all the bosses in the game have the same fight mechanics as they were in the series.

Alim was supposed to be releasing Brave Exvius in Q1 2015, but I haven't heard anything about it. But it's supposed to be a Final Fantasy/Brave Frontier mashup type of game.

Ya I have been playing record keeper and it is much better then BF right now. I sometimes get a little UI lag but I am not sure if that is my phone or the game itself.

Only question I have about FF:RK is going to be about monetization. Are they going to be completely overpriced because it's FF?

They work off two different "gem" systems. One is earned in game. The other is bought. You can use either for "rare summons". It appears to be about $3 for a rare summon. They have the usual discount for the bought currency so their 11 summon button (10 + 1 "free") works out to about $28. They do have "rate up" like BF and PnD but it appears to be for just one specific item instead of several within a theme.

Apparently it's pretty popular over in Japan (Final Fantasy, duh) and it seems different enough from the usual formula to garner interest from those who like these types of games.

*shrug* If someone does I'll participate. I'm actually devoting most of my phone time to a semi-idle game called Tap Titans these days. Spend just enough time in FFRK to run one "dungeon" before going off to do something else.
