Yep, as said, he doesn't really have these problems...If he does, he's creating them over some fucked up guilt complex. The only thing in all those tweets I can see being an issue is the employees hating him--because bitterness happens a lot in sell offs.
I'm sure it's going to be lol first world problems but I can pretty much take any vacation I want, and it's boring. I've got a spreadsheet of all the items I want to see in the world and I'm checking them off. If I had nothing to do work wise I'm sure I could see them all in a year. Then what. Drugs? Hookers? I'd fucking judge the shit out of anyone I knew who came into multiple billions of dollars and didn't seriously spread the wealth. Having that much money is pointless. Your grandchildren in 3 generations will still be counting it.
I don't know the exact details of the deal, but my impression from what I read is the other stake-holding employees DID become multi-millionaires and even the coffee-fetching fuckpoles got handsome bonuses they were not entitled to in any way.
You say that, and yet, nobody who rolls into billions ever does anything like that.
According tothis article, EVERY person was offered (at minimum) 2 years of guaranteed salary (even if the office was shutdown entirely) and a $300k bonus. And that was just for the rank and file.
He's not going to vacation like even a moderately wealthy person would, though. He can bring all of his friends, he can attend events, and go to locations, that would simply be prohibitive for anyone who wasn't a 'comfortable' millionaire (IE was no longer in jeopardy of having to work again due to capital growth). Going along the southern French country side is pretty amazing. Doing it with your own local history professor and being able to donate so you have access to various historical sites? Is something else entire.
That's different, someone making 100k is still in a bell curve of wealth/poverty; where he still needs to worry about the lower earning potential of his retirement, in which even moderate stupidity presents the very real possibility of poverty if he lives long enough.
I think very rich people do try this though and get "friends" that are not friends. When people see free trips and luxury they turn into leeches real fast. If he doesn't already have established friends he isn't going to make any now. Thats just reality.
Not really arguing here but it's different like you say (they do need to worry about retirement) but not different in that if you budget 2-3k a year to just shower on your friends, it would make no difference. And yet... people don't do this. Why not? It's just not done. I could probably pay for my friends to go to every event we go to together on me, and not really notice. But I don't. I think some of them would honestly be insulted.
Agreed they do. But the idea that someone with 2 billion is going to say "1 billion is enough! Lol EVERY ONE TAKE A SHARE" is just asinine.
Uhh, some of us do so right now, don't you have leech friends? I do. I pay for their drink, I pay for the concert tickets... Fucking losers but why? Because they are fun to be around. And that's worth its weight in gold. I have a friend that never really worked in his life, he just kind of exists off others. But hes cool, has charisma and just a fun dude to be around. Plus hes always got the good weed.
