The Left often likes to use science — or rather, a modified version of science — in arguments related to atheism, evolution, abortion, climate change, etc. But just how it will deal with a new scientific study on transgenderism remains to be seen. According to a new report published in The New Atlantis journal, transgenderism — the latest hot button social justice “ism” — is not supported by science.

The report was co-authored by former Chief of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University Dr. Paul McHugh and Arizona State University Professor of Statistics and Biostatistics Lawrence Mayer. They concluded that “gender identity” is not separate from biological sex.

"Examining research from the biological, psychological, and social sciences, this report shows that some of the most frequently heard claims about sexuality and gender are not supported by scientific evidence,” the report prefaced.

I can't really take any article serious when it says that the left is using modified science to explain atheism and evolution.

yeah, the article is very slanted, doing just as bad of a job as reading the report through its own biases. The report itself is mostly, well known stuff being repeated. not sure there is any new info. Does drive me nuts its repeats the same silly stats for transitioning.
"41% of all transgendered attempt suicide, vs 5% general population." (I am not even sure where that 5% comes from. Suicide stats say 13 out of 100,000. isn't that... .013%?
Then later, when discussing transitioning uses that bullshit study that uses a control group of general population. "suicide attempts among post transition CONTINUED to drastically exceed general population. With suicide attempts as much as 5 times the control group. "
again, the control group is the general population. which we stated has a 5% suicide rate according to this report. 5x6 is 30%. Which is lower then the 41% or higher. so... transitioning clearly has a positive effect often, even if it does not solve all their problems. The use of the word "continued" is evidence of bias in the report itself, as it totally fails to acknowledge that suicide attempts post transition are far lower then non-transition suicide attempts. and THAT is using decades old data, not current transition rates.
