Do household thermostats in Celsius utilizing countries allow for set temperature in the decimal range? There is a perceptible difference between a 1 degree Fahrenheit adjustment so broadening that range even further does seem problematic.
Can the US just ban Celsius from the world please?

I understand that. Here in the US you can switch a thermostat over to Celcius if you so desire, but you still can only set it to integers so you loose out some ability to fine tune your temperature setting. If you could do a .5 Celsius setting that would completely negate the problem to which I'm referring. Hence my question.
my dad has a 12 year old digital thermostat and can be set by 0.5 degrees. The latest thermostats can be adjusted by 0.1 steps.

Isn't the use of water as our basis just as arbitrary? It makes it a little easier of you're boiling water or making ice, but outside of that it there's really no advantages to it.

That's where kelvin comes in. Celsius is also arbitrary in that the water boiling point changes based on atmospheric pressure, and is set for sea level.
Fahrenheit is the only imperial unit that makes sense, and only for a human comfort standpoint (which is what is thought of when considering temperature the vast majority of the time).
Below 40s = fucking ice
40s = really cold
50s = cold
60s = cool
70s = nice
80s = warm
90s = hot
100s = really hot
Above 100s = fucking heat stroke
Logical, but only from a purely human centric point of view...

Kelvin is still arbitrary. I don't know if you realize this, but the Kelvin scale is just the Celsius scale with no chance of having to deal with a negative number.
Basically, the metric system if for stupid people. There, I said it. All you people who wanna switch to it are just bad at math.
THE reason why we-the us - is not on metric, if i remember correctly is,, reagan scrapped the program in the 80's.

at work i use Decimal feet 1'=10 tenths, 1 tenth has 10 hundredths, one hundred has 10 thousandths
at times i have to convert us inch feet to us decimal feet, or convert metric to decimal feet or hell i still come across work in chains, rods &links..
for the record a rod is 16.5 feet a link is 7.92 inches a chain is 66' and i still find roads laid out in those dimensionings in width

Agreed. It's similar to a 1-10 rating system of fuckage. too much in either direction = a bad time.
Except I think your cold ratings need to be -10. 30's are really cold <20 fucking ice bawls cold. hoping USPS has a signature so I dont have to go out to the mail box.

It's funny up here. We use Imperial measurements in the construction industry in the field always, and on most designs and drawings. However, some engineering firms and planners will use metric, which is really fucking annoying. Especially when you are working with something like 1-1/4" pipe and they draw it up as 32mm. I can visualize 1-1/4" pipe, pretty hard to picture what 32mm is in your head.
We talk about our weight in pounds and height in feet. But on Government documents it's in kilograms and centimeters...

How logical would it be to have 12cents in a dime, and 74.6 dimes in a dollar.... That is imperial system right there.

Which is one of the reasons the US has not converted. While it's easy to use whatever unit on a computer in the design and engineering phase, if you specify a something in metric it doesn't mean shit to the guy in the shop who is fabricating it or putting it up in the field.
We recently did a refit at a steel mill owned by a Canadian firm. They shipped us metric size steel beams to use and it was the biggest PITA because the people in the shop had no experience to glance at X and know it was Y right off.
