Two things:
When you spend the whole year saying movie critics are pompous assholes that are not to be trusted and then drink their words like ambrosia when they don't like a movie you hope will tank, it's a bit dumb.
I am going to the gym weekly as part of the training regimen for my sport, so let me tell you what makes you better at doing pull-ups: doing pull-ups (also: losing weight, but if you are fit beforehand, going to the gym is more likely to make you gain more muscle weight than lose fat weight). If you train someone 5 days a week to be and look athletic, chances are you only put pull-ups on the schedule from time to time as a confidence boosting exercise because it is easy to see the progresses you make (most people go from 0 to something you can count on your fingers).

Saying you do not trust people who have a religious adherence to an ideology to be objective about things but also enjoying watching those ideologues reject something that their ideology proscribes rejection of, because its so bad, is not a contradiction. It's not dumb at all. On the contrary, its often seen as tremendous evidence when someone who once argued in opposition of your views now supports you due to new evidence, if there were no other mitigating factor to pressure their views to change (Which should lead you to the conclusion that the evidence of their new view was objectively so profound it could alter even their dogmatic adherence to their ideological analysis of X subject.)
Szli..Black Panther and Wonder Woman really pulled back the curtain on this. Its really difficult to not see critics recoiling from Captain Marvel as damning after those two got such ridiculous praise for objectively being only somewhat better than mediocre films. Right? Is that something you can, seriously now, really argue with?

Black panther got an average rating .7 higher than Winter soldier. .4 higher than Guardians of the Galaxy. .2 higher than Avengers. .8 higher than infinity war.
It was by far the highest rated film of any marvel movie using average ratings, despite having the same formula, and the same issues with origin stories and frankly pretty weak CGI. It was simply an inferior movie to any of the ones I listed. And these ratings are despite the fact that the scale is not linear, its distribution is non-standard. There is a precipitous drop at 8, every bit beyond that is a lot more difficult than up to 8 to get. So Black Panther, on average did A LOT better than any of these films. Wonder Woman isn't as bad, and that I'll admit might be my perception, but she scored significantly higher than most origin movies, despite not being much better than the average "decent" one--she's certainly not in the same league as Guardians but her score reflects that.
You're just wrong here, at least about Black Panther. But I shouldn't need to explain this to you. If you, as a critic, didn't look over the Black Panther reviews calling it historic and cringe a little, then you're just being willfully blind.
