That's pretty blah compared to what LSU got even playing in the cotton bowl which included an Ipad among other stuff.

In case anyone is wondering. You can get free stuff from the bowl and the school for making a bowl game.

The NCAA allows each bowl to award up to $550 worth of gifts to 125 participants per school. Schools can, and almost always do, buy additional packages that they can distribute to participants beyond that 125 limit. In addition, participants can receive awards worth up to $400 from the school and up to $400 from the conference for postseason play, covering both conference title games and any bowl game.

In real news the LSU kicker from Australia, Brad Wing is suspended for our bowl game. Flunked 2nd drug test. From what I've read he often doesn't show up for long periods to class and most likely will just go NFL.

I have said on one of the other forums that I don't buy into the Butch Jones riding on Kelly's coattails. Kelly recruited a lot of talent, but by the time Jones got there a lot of it hadn't panned out for whatever reason - and a large part of that is just two different systems. When Jones got here he implemented new systems for offense and defense, and there was a rough adjustment year with Kelly's guys. Last year Kelly's guys had learned the system, and they had improved somewhat - but they were still the wrong type of players playing well together as a team. This season Cincy was starting a large number underclassmen on both sides of the ball, so even if you do buy into Jones only doing well because of Kelly's recruits then you still can't look at that. The bottom line is that when these coaches are changing teams every 3 seasons then a large part of their success is going to be based on another guys recruits. It was true of Kelly and it was true of Jones.

Jones is a good coach and he walked into some good situations. That doesn't make him a bad coach. Butch Jones is also not in the same league as Brian Kelly - who I believe is one of the top 5 coaches in the country. Next year is going to be brutal, but after that Tennessee will be back to being occasionally good.
