And it's official, USC finished with a 7-6 record and ends up having the 3rd worst season in the 61 year history of the AP poll for a team that started the year ranked #1. The only two worse were 1950 Notre Dame who finished 4-4-1, and 1964 Ole Miss who finished 5-5-1.

Because it's a meaningless bowl game, and they are good enough to be in a playoff. It is probably their 4th or 5th biggest game of the year.
