Love how ESPN is trying to spin the Miss. St game as a solid but tough win against Kentucky. Is that suppose to help solidify their #1 ranking? This is Kentucky they are talking about here, the near bottom-barrel SEC team with most of their wins against FCS teams and an incredibly mediocre and overrated South Carolina team. Also a team that finally has its first few SEC win in what, 4 years?

They do have a stake in this. With the partnership with SEC network, they receive quite a lot of money from the SEC and subsequently, money from the success of the SEC teams (SEC success, hyped or not, brings in fans and people to subscribe $$ to SEC Network). It also brings to light the fact that they brought this up makes it even more ridiculous. If it is not an issue, you wave it off and not give a shit because you know its not true and etc. Instead, he goes on some long rant about how there isn't any bias and bullshit like that. This is a political tactic 101, deny deny deny when something is true. It is pathetic overall.
Either way, I respect some teams in the SEC because they demonstrate year after year they are the shit. However, some of the SEC teams get a lot of credit for absolute shit. Hence my comment about how ESPN is clamoring about the Miss. St. win over Kentucky and how it is a meaningful win when it sure the fuck isn't. It should actually be the exact opposite. The game was a lot closer than it ever should have been with such a "dominant" #1 ranked team. It begs the question of FSU with that in mind as they've had close games too, but I also criticize them just as much (they are substantially less great this year compared to last, they are winning on almost pure luck some games).
Either way, I suspect the SEC cock-sucking will continue for the foreseeable future. Teams like Alabama and Auburn (somewhat) deserve it all, but others don't. Stuff like this also makes me hate college basketball as teams like Duke and UNC always get a lot of credit (especially preseason-wise). They have no been relevant in years but yet are always considered "dominant" teams. Teams like UK (I'll admit even though they are my rival), Louisville, UConn, and a few others truly deserve the credit as they remain relevent in terms of tournament year after year. But teams with "tradition" or overhyped conferences (ACC and Big 12 (Kansas) for instance) always get the most attention overall, which is pure bullshit.
I think it is still funny that the SEC is 8-10 vs. Big East in bowl games and 25-29 in regular season.... The BIG EAST!!!! The good ole' cupcake conference that everyone laughed at.
Big East is the only conference that has a positive W/L over the SEC (both bowl and regular season) and that is just downright hilarious. So crown the Big East as the total conference champions up until 2013?

Congrats on the 14 games against Vanderbilt and Kentucky
The reason the record plays out like this is that with automatic bowl bids, you generally end up with something like the SEC #9 team vs the Big East #2. That's why you see so many "BBVA Compass Bowl" and "Music City Bowl" and "Papa Johns Bowl" listed in there. That's like the 8th or 9th best bowl for the SEC, where it was the 2nd or 3rd best for the Big East. So the Big East regularly faced off against some 6-6 SEC team (Vandy or Kentucky) with their 10-2, 9-3 2nd place team.
I'm not going to claim that there aren't good teams in other leagues, there certainly are, many of whom would do perfectly well in the SEC. You could take the top team from any other league (Florida State, Oregon, Michigan St) and they would be in the mix for winning the SEC this year. Where the difference lies is after those top couple of dominant teams in a conference. I guarantee whoever finishes # 3-7 or so in the SEC this year are lightyears better than the #3-7 in any other conference.
Just for comparison sake, #3-7 of a few different conferences
SEC: Alabama(7-1), Georgia(6-1), Auburn(6-1), LSU(6-2), Missouri(6-2)
ACC: Clemson(6-2), Louisville(6-2), Georgia Tech (6-2), Boston College (5-3), North Carolina (4-4)
Pac12: Arizona (6-1), Utah (6-1), Stanford(5-3), USC(5-3), UCLA(6-2)
Big12: Baylor(6-1), TCU(6-1) Ok St(5-3), Oklahoma(5-2), Texas(3-5)
I think the SEC team would be favored in almost any situation against an equal-seeded team. Anyone think Alabama/Clemson would be a close game, or Auburn/Oklahoma St, LSU/USC or Missouri/Texas?
Sure, there would be some damn fun games, and good matchups in there (I'd love to see Georgia/TCU), but as a whole, the SEC probably wins 2/3 to 3/4 of those games.
The bottom line in of all this is that the 4 team playoff is not good enough which we all knew. Should have just copy/pasted Division II/FCS playoffs and been done. The conference championship games however(which were made solely for money to split up between conference teams) fuck all of this up unless they extend the cfb season well past what it is now.
This is what it should look like, where the teams with the better records/rankings get to play on their home field through most of the playoffs. But then the stupid fucking bowls wont make their money, so it will never happen because CFB is ruined by money.

I don't see the 4-team playoff lasting more than a year or two. We will be up to 8 pretty dang quick. Have the first round of playoffs in the higher seeds home stadium, then move into the traditional major bowl sites from there. Would work out perfectly for TV/holidays too. First round of games(4 games) are like Christmas eve/Christmas, second round of games(2 games) are on New Years day, then you have your championship game the next week(Jan 7th or 8th or whatever) just like it's been during the entire BCS era.
8 teams gets in each conference champ + 3 wild cards
Lol whatsa is still obsessed. Do you have a room with walls covered in all my posts or something bro? Its a little sick at this point, if you werent the turd in the punch bowl I'd be touched.

I have no idea what you're talking about little kid. Care to explain what my hissy fit over the lack of forum moderaters to deal with the SEC mouth breathers has to do with you?
Hey Ray Jeem. It's been a rough season, and I wanted to get you something to make you feel better. So I got you a video of our white running back blowing up a Florida DB.

only 2 undefeated teams in the country. Weren't there something like six at the end of the season last year? I know LSU has 2 losses, but I expected them to jump more.
Nah there was only 1 undefeated major-conference team last year(Florida St, Auburn had a loss going into the title game). There are rarely more than 2. I think you have to go back to probably 2004 to find the last time you had 3 major-conference undefeated teams as of the end of the regular season. That year was Auburn, USC, and Oklahoma, and USC/Oklahoma played for the national title.
There were several times in recent years when a small-conference school went undefeated (TCU, Boise, Utah, Hawaii) but they never got to play for a national title
