Peppers doesn't have the legitimate stats to back up the hype he receives. I've said it before, he's a good player, not great. He's being hindered (and also propped up by being diverse) by the fact that they are trying to make him play a gazillion positions instead of focusing on one. If he focused on his one position, he'd be absolutely amazing. He isn't even the best defensive player on his own team in terms of tackles (32nd in the Big10). He's 34th in sacks in his own conference, one interception in 12 games, doesn't have the top 15 in fumbles (forced or recovered) and not in passes defended. He did not have a single tackle for loss against Wisconsin, Penn St., and Ohio St.
