It is the problem that Ohio State has had for a long time and whoever wins the PAC 12 has currently. Its basically you guys and nobody else so how can you have a national title contending team when you are playing literally nobody. Unless you are Clemson I guess. Luckily for the B1G the last three to four years have had a resurgence at least in the east and Wiscy in the West. As shown by bowl records and OOC records.

Yeah, but if the team beats whoever is put in front of them and the committee puts them at 4 what are they supposed to do? Decline? There is no way OU gets he benefit of the doubt anymore even if they are undefeated. And who can blame them? At this point I'd rather win the conference, get left out, go play a meaningless bowl game, and just be in the lower half of the top 10.

I'd like to take a moment to give props to Orgeron. Unlike a lot of pussy ass coaches, he has kept his foot on the gas and his 1s in to step on OUs throat. That is how you coach a fucking NC caliber team. Every time I see Riley pull up on a team in the first half or run bullshit plays with the second team instead of making them give maximum effort when they get the opportunity it pisses me off.

I don't blame OU for getting put in. You play who you play and the crossover between conferences is minimal so we really don't have a measuring stick until bowl season and even that is a shoddy one at best for numerous reasons. You really just have to look at talent and then combine it with competition. The sec is going to have four to six of the top ten recruting classes, the B1G will have two to four, Clemson gets one for the ACC and then OU gets one. The PAC 12 may have one. So when the talent disparities are so egregious it makes the playoffs a farse beyond the top two or three for the most part. You can't go from playing Baylor and Texas to playing a team that was shit stomping Alabama and Georgia and expect to play the same way. You aren't more talented then them and they are used to playing at game speeds with people who are equal to them.

Clemson and Ohio State are miles ahead of OU defensively and they actually have QBs that can throw the ball at an elite level. Not sure they can beat LSU but I'm thinking a 10 to 14 point victory is about as large a margin as you will get in the championship game. Chase Young by himself is probably worth more then OU's whole defensive line.
