Napier suits me just fine.Lame would have perfect really, get their hopes up and leave within 1-2 years for a “better” job.

Yeah, I think he’ll be a fine coach there. It’ll come down to recruiting though, if he can stay within the top 5 annually, the East will be “interesting”.Napier suits me just fine.
And now it’s being reported that Riley to USC is all but done.
Was just reading about this element of the change. This does fuck recruiting for OU in 22 and 23 since all our many high ranking Cali recruits are flipping to USC tonight.
That’s what I’ve heard too. If any Florida school gets an elite recruiter that school will be dangerous within 2 years.
actually, looks like it’s official
It will be impossible for OU to fade away, their admin already has the foresight to know that the SEC would be the only conference that matters. Texas and OU in the next few years. They will grab Clemson and one or a few more from the ACC in the next decade.USC is such a fitting place for Riley's personality, mentality, and lack of accountability that I can't even be that mad about this. The idea that OU doesn't have the ability to compete in the SEC is fucking laughable, though. Riley doesn't have the ability to compete in it because he is a soft-ass, SJW marching, limp-wristed bitch.
When the chips are down, though, a single coach doesn't determine if OU will be relevant in college football going forward. What matters is if the athletic department recognizes the changing landscape with NIL, the virtual unlimited staff options afforded by "analyst" positions, and whether they are committed to spending the money necessary to be successful at the highest levels. If OU fades into Nebraska-esqe obscurity it will be because our athletic department lacked the balls and the foresight to ensure that football was the overwhelming number 1 priority that it clearly should be.
Lol I cant wait to see OU and Texas getting dumpstered in the SEC.
The circle jerking going on between these two *rival* fanbases trying to rationalize this move is hilarious. More exposure! To what, how fucking bad you guys were and consistently failed to be as a standard bearer for the B12? With practically no competition??
See, in the B12 there was always hope for UT and OU since they could underperform, flail around every year, and still generally win out on talent (Texas even managed to fucking fail at this somehow). Now they are just going to underperform and be bottom bitch against teams with equal or more talent.
The writing wasn't just on the wall for Riley, it was a giant blinking neon sign reading "Danger!" He made the right move for his career. Shouldn't be hard to do what he did at OU and still be successful enough to keep his job even underperforming.
