There might be a thread for this already, but I just get an error message when trying to search?



Hits 1.0 tomorrow. Known about it for a while, but had my fill of trying EA games too early, so waited on this one.

Downloaded it today since the new worlds created now will be compatible with the 1.0 update.



1-8 player coop. Dungeon delving, survival, crafting, boss battles. All the usual things of this genre. Only played it for an hour, but initial impressions are very good.

I got it a while ago. not as bad as starbound, but not as good as terraria back then. the world gen was still fairly empty. not as interesting as exploring in terraria. town building same issue.
I see new world gen as 1.0 content.

Current price point is 20$, on sale for 16?. probably worth it if you like these kinds of games.

Procedurally generated open world, you start in a fairly safe place with only wandering slimes around, and start by collecting wood and minerals, making crafting stations, and crafting garbage gear. You expand outward to harder biomes, find random loot and magic items, kill bosses which drop loot which opens more advanced crafting stations. You make better gear and continue expanding out in different directions, to new biomes, unlocking harder bosses.

It's basically a top down terraria. Played 20 or so hours with my kids a couple of years ago, we really enjoyed it at the time. I'm sure there is like 80% more content now, so its probably even better at this point. I'll probably talk to the kids and fire it back up personally.

Cool, might check it out then. Those videos made it look very much not at all like Terraria.

This looks interesting. I never played the other similar types of games but "new game smell" makes me want to try it out.

It's a solid 'not as good as Terraria but at least its something new' tier imo

I like it. Especially the lighting - it makes the pretty basic graphics work a lot better than you'd expect from a static image.

The fire staff is hella fun, especially the power-up fireball.

Yeah, I would describe it in a weird position.

its probably the best terraria clone I can think of, atm. (at like 20% of Terraria's content..)

but it also doesn't really have anything innovative , nor is it on par with Terraria itself.
The others aimed higher... but also then are either very janky, like Necesse, or just not very good like starbound, keplerth, etc.

Install location has nothing to do with where most Game Pass games store their save data.

Because of Xbox crossplay cloud saves, most Game Pass games do not store their save data in the normal location on PC, and it's usually encrypted or incompatible with other versions of the game from other stores.

There are ways sometimes, but they vary from game to game. For instance, when I was playing Deathloop, I couldn't take the save data and move it to the Steam copy of the game I got in one of my Humble bundles.

Pretty fun and relaxing game to goof around in. Slowly exploring and building my base.

I know you can set up wood and ore farms that automate but how about crops? Do you always need to replant when you harvest them?

I wouldn't quite say melee is bad in this game because it definitely outdamages ranged or magic by a lot, but it punishes mistakes very hard. Like the bosses have patterns where if you learn them you can figure out safe times for melee, but why bother when you can just safely stay at range the entire time. Like Terraria definitely favors ranged but I feel like melee is quite a bit easier compared to Core Keeper.

Thats not something I've tested. No idea how the armor formula works. magic/summoner gear has much less armor, or no armor and magic barrier.

one of the good and interesting thing is this game doesn't have touch damage. enemies need to be doing their attack animations to deal damage. (although this might not apply to bosses?)
