Yeah.. they're by far the hardest part of that fight, you just need to try and split and bait them then its pretty simple.
I'm having a hard time trying to find a consistent place to sunbro at SL 123

So in the meantime i just go to the rat covenant place and use dry fingers and proceed to rape all those scrubs lol
Guardian Dragon seems to be a decent place

Kill them before they finish animating, use alluring skull/yearn if too many are left. Same advice goes for all three skeleton types, actually.

Keep in mind you can do damage to them while they are spawning. I can usually kill at least two and sometimes three before they can get into attack mode.

Just did Darklurker for the first time, took me 7 tries. Jesus that fight is a pain in the ass.

I felt as a "bonus" boss, Darklurker was the easiest of them (though once you learn the fights Ancient Dragon and Vendrick they're not hard but you just can't make a single mistake). He's not hard with Ranged so long as he doesn't get super aggressive with the void bombs after the split. The trick with those is to find the bomb and roll through it as it comes for you. You'll roll right past the explosion. The big thing is that he just doesn't have a lot of hitpoints so you can go easy and slow prior to the split and after the split just unload on him.

Lolwut vendrick you can hug his left leg and win, Darklurker is a huge pain in the ass. It has very low health but its still a PITA, as one hit usually screws you.

I had good RNG on my 2nd character playthrough and 1shot it though lol

I killed Darklurker for the first time in NG+, my combined ATN+INT+WIS is like 10 points.

He doesn't feel like "low hp" when you can't magic spam him with 5 hits and ez win. I hit him for ~110 a pop with a +10 Huntsman's bow and fire arrows. It took 50 arrows.

ahh yeah true, he's just very very vulnerable to lightning. My greater lightning spears hit him pretty damn hard lol

I don't even know what you're talking about with the dark bombs and finding the right one. I do know that there are multiple orbs and only one explosion, but I never actually looked at them. Any time he had a dark or fire orb over his head, I ran around the perimeter of the room in a sprint until I saw explosions. It is definitely a patience fight as a melee though (especially dual wield powerstanced as I was). You have to wait until neither of them is doing their range attacks and then go in for 1-2 hits. The real problem is that if you do get hit, the chances for you to drink a flask are few and far between.

I tried using Flame Tempest right as he split, but it was never very reliable on hits for me. Maybe 1, 2 if I got lucky, but never enough damage to change whatever the outcome would be.

As far as being easier than Vendrick... lol. Maybe if you have zero giant souls.

Somehow I managed to just figure out I can lay signs down and regain my humanity without using a human effigy... 30 hours on this character...

So now I'm summoning people before boss fights and they're more or less faceroll. I'm thinking this isn't a good thing. Maybe I should just look forward to NG+?

Once you understand the game, nothing is really that difficult. It's all about pattern recognition and patience. Adding another person to the mix often makes many bosses easier mainly because one person is always free to attack while the other blocks/dodges. IMO bosses should at a minimum double their HP for every extra player. 200% for one phantom, 400% for two phantoms.

Hm, I suppose you're right. When I ran into the Pursuer again in Iron Keep I one shot him. For reference, with the Forest of Giants version I attempted to kill him several times more than it took the trash mobs prior to his area to stop spawning. So I guess you might be on to something.

That is pretty much what is happening, except their resists increase, not their hitpoints.

Is there any way to completely disable automated target switching? it's working so poorly, it usually gets me killed because it targets an enemy half way across the room as I tried to walk around my current one for a backstab.

I'm surprised you've never seen the Darklurker's void bomb. It's, by far, his nastiest ability. He opens up a rift somewhere in the room and a void bomb comes out of that rift and homes in on you. When it hits the ground, it explodes and is basically a one-shot. So the trick is to find the rift that opened and watch as the bomb comes out and then roll through it. That way the bomb lands behind you and explodes harmlessly.

I've seen that ability but never really knew exactly how it worked; I just rolled after a few seconds of seeing the thing above his head and hoped for the best. It definitely is not a one-shot on NG or NG+ though, I've been hit by it many times and have never raised vigor above 20. I do tend to use GMB against him however. Melee is definitely harder than ranged, unless you are hex melee and can use Profound Still on him. In which case the fight becomes utterly trivial.

And Dandai, summoning people for bosses should be your last resort, basically admitting defeat on something you can't do by yourself. Every boss is a joke with a second body thrown in the mix, whether it's PC or NPC assistance. Except Ancient Dragon I guess, summoning there is probably counterproductive.

you must have pretty good resists or something, the little void bomb usually one shot my first hex/faith caster anytime i got hit by it lol

As for the multiplayer boss scaling, it already does to an extent, but as mentioned.. it doesn't increase health/damage. It increases the defences/resists by what seems 2x for each phantom with the host. I only really notice the difference when there is 2 phantoms though, then my damage gets basically cut in half. Maybe the scaling doesn't even kick in until there is 2 phantoms with the host?

GMB definitely helps. Wiki says it increases elemental resists by 25% but it seems more potent than just that.

For armor I don't use anything special... black mask and black dragon torso stone usually; lion mage stuff if I need to fall back on nuking something.

I've "seen" the ability, had to dodge it many times. What I meant is that I never actually took the time to figure out or understand how it works because running around the room got me away from it just fine.

The one thing you have to realize about that attack is Darklurker opens at least 2 little void portals that it can come out of. The first time i saw it I just stood there kind of like.. okay what does that do?
then got hit from behind from another portal i didn't see lol

I want to come up with a trolly invader build. I really, really wish that the champion covenant ring didn't require level 3. I want to make a character with high ass adaptability and nothing but fisticuffs for weapons

but it's only viable with that ring i'd think.

Pretty sure there is a toggle in options.
