Sun Sword is from the sunbro covenent, 20 medals or something I think? Drake keeper drops in dragon shrine. Those two are basically top of the pile as far as straight swords go.

Barbed club is easily the best 1h strike weapon in the game, but it could be due to a bug rather than design (it's physical damage goes up when you infuse it, rather than down like every other weapon). It also applies a full bleed when you backstab with it, which just makes the backstabs oneshots on nearly anything/anyone.

Defenders greatsword is the best greatsword in the game if you run any kind of faith build. The throne watcher sword is the int version, but it's just flat out worse in every way.

And twinkling/dragon bones are easy once you get to dragon aerie. Every bonfire you burn there is something stupid like 9 crystal lizards + static dragon bone drops + whatever the drakes drop.

Bell covenant isn't pvp, it's just ganking and bullshit. It's 2v1 for days with NPC assists. Join the sentinels and go arbiter, or wait for blood covenant.

I'm looking to start pvping on ps3. I'm part of the bell bros covenant. I'm not in ng+ does that matter?
This is pretty much the only PVP you'll get without being in NG, but its heavily unbalanced lol.
I did it on my SL1 character, and it was always me and another shade vs 1 scrub

easy titanite chunks though!

I upgraded the Large Club to +6 or something.. man, that thing hits like a truck but it's so slow that I'm having trouble in Iron Keep against the samurai dudes.

Usually if you use a large weapon you'll want enough poise to be able to prevent getting staggered, it definitely makes it easier that way at least.

Smelter Demon is the first problem i encountered on my SL1 character lol, worst part is having to reclear all of those same samurai guys to get to him.
His immolation is pretty shitty when you have stock health

Large club is mostly for boss killing imo, though the r2 attack will oneshot most mobs, so once you get used to the timing it makes for decent trash clear as well.

That was my plan. I can kill the samurai guys in two R2 hits with my drangleic sword and pretty much tear through that area like it's easy mode.

Well I beat the game using no shield and melee/bow only. It wasnt really overly hard, but it did make me WAY better at dodging. Powerstanced sacred chime hammer + lion greataxe is a preposterous combo. Shit just died so fast. Good suggestion on that.

Been trying to play when I can.

Smelter Demon was a bitch. I knew his moves and was able to dodge fairly easily, but he still kept gibbing me. I enjoyed it so greatly when he fell. Surprised by the mini-boss that popped up after he died - and even more surprised that I killed him on my first shot. Shows how far you come when what was previously an extremely hard boss dies on the first try. Don't even think I got hit.

Tried Iron King a few times and got him to 5% on the last attempt and then I accidentally fell into a lava hole by the door. Getting to him is sort of hilarious because you only need to fight like 4 turtle guys along the way
