Hrm good to know. But everyone who invaded me was hopelessly bad that I didn't get much of a handle on any nuances of PVP mechanics here. And I'm on PC so for now, offline mode...This is incorrect. Player control returns after the second hit. That's why you can parry the third hit on R1 longsword spammers.
Also, sorry for the triple post. I'm on phone and multiquote sucks here.
I'm sure the hordes of people providing data about poise not working don't know what they are talking about and Kriptini is the armor whisperer.
PS L2edit instead of triple post
I'm just speaking in response to the Loltaku article Noodle linked me. In that article, the author assumed that poise in DS3 is supposed to work the way poise did in DS1, which is not an intuitive conclusion considering that poise was changed to only apply to wind-ups in DS2 and it worked the same way in Bloodborne. My initial assumption is that it works the same way in DS3 as it did in DS2 and Bloodborne. So unless "hyper armor" is tied to the weapon being wielded (which is possible as I have not looked at any of the data beyond that article), then poise does exist.Krip that's not the only article, just one of a myriad
I fully realize that it's probably my shitty gaming skills that attributes to this, but how do you go back through DS2 and not feel like everything just takes forever. Every single encounter with guys, to me, was epic. Often times dying a lot. Not just boss fights. The trash fights got a little easier, but I died at least over a dozen times to the turtle shell looking dudes. Then I finally got a little further, to that room where 3 ballistae are setup to ambush you, and it was another epic fight. Are you literally good enough at it at this point that you just fly through that stuff without much trouble?Yeah, its a good game.
Although I went back and started a DS2 run and I have to say that DS3 might have it on Combat speed / feel as it hits a nice balance between BB and the souls series DS2 really shines after a playthrough of DS3. More, smaller areas but still pretty well designed I guess? Actually viable mage only builds in addition to have melee options?
I really enjoyed Ds3 but going back and playing DS2 again has been more fun than I thought it would be. I think the ending areas in DS3 really ding the game overall. Screams "we ran out of time here are some bon fires and bosses to kill thanks for your money". The last 1/3 of DS3 goes really really fast.
I'm really not that great a souls player. I'm persistent and ok at the game but hardly very good or even good IMO. I finish them and do so so because I'm careful, not greedy on my attacks and when I fuck up I tend to learn and or only repeat the fuck up a handful of times before I learn. These games are meant to kill you so I really try and not rage too bad when I die and lose 74k souls to something stupid. Naturally I rage but who doesn't?I fully realize that it's probably my shitty gaming skills that attributes to this, but how do you go back through DS2 and not feel like everything just takes forever. What the fuck, venerable Dr? Didn't you play the ever living shit out of Bloodborne and love the fuck out of it? Sheeeeit, play the Souls games. Two of them are better than BB imo, and the other isn't any worse.Buying a ton of shit on Amazon. Do I need to play through DS1 and 2 to do 3? Should I play DeS?
You seem to have known about all of the bosses and the path through the game ahead of time. Wonder if that has anything to do with it. First play thru I was over 50.Im at 24:30 for time, I feel this is the shortest in the series. I didn't do the dragon peak yet, but I don't see that adding a significant amount of time.
