I pretty much agree. And yet, it's the exact type of game that I'd love to play co-op with someone. Such a shame!

It would be really fun to be able to play Dark Souls with a friend without losing them after going through every level, but sadly, that's not the kind of direction that Souls games are going to take.

Playing with friends in any souls game is for pussies
it's not about difficulty it's just fun sunbroing with your friends on coop specific characters. I've beat the games with SL1 characters with the exception for bloodborne since that game is boring as hell, i haven't even finished it.

Hell, make it scale up way more if you.. 'premake' a group. I would be totally fine with that.

Knight's Honor is pretty annoying, used a wiki for that. One year old 360 controller broke a while ago; eventually stumbled on a playstation 2 controller adapter for a much sturdier fifteen year old one.

Twitch is playing Dark Soul.

It's horrible...

They are stuck in the tutorial for many hours and as soon as they do some kind of progress someone use the dark sign.

Progressing through DS2 now, and I can see why people don't like it as much as the first one. There is just something missing that the first one had. Maybe the areas are too big, and bland.

I feel bored in some areas where that never happened to me in DS1.

DS2 lacks that sweeping "omg - I am a few ramparts above where I just was an hour ago and I still see my bloodstain" level of interconnectedness, but some of its levels are just stunning. Wish they'd done more like Heide's Tower and The Lost Bastille and fewer like Black Gulch. I'd also prefer a less annoying Shrine of Amana, because that place sure was stunning from an artistic vantage.

Yeah everyone says the same though I think part of the reason you're bored is you started it right after DS1. Those of us who played at launch had a nice break between the two games so we knew it wasn't as good as DS1 but it didn't hit us as hard.

I'm still making my way through the DLC. I got to the dragon boss in Sunken King and still have the trio there. In Iron King I killed the Fume Knight so I'm "done" in the sense that I got the Crown. I'm working my way through Ivory King right now and killed the Cat. So far I think I like the level design of Ivory King. I really like how after killing the Cat the WHOLE level opens up.

So for the most part I like the DLC level designs but the bosses suck. They are SO much harder than the base game but it's not like DS1 where the difficultly feels organic. It's just a series of "Oh so that's another 1 hit kill attack that they have. OK." And for the record you will never convince me that "grab" attacks that kill you in one shot are a "fun" mechanic. Also a lot of the difficulty comes just from giving the bosses a stupidly high amount of health, defense, resist and attack values while being extremely aggressive which makes actually hitting them difficult.

Grats! I just got it for DS2

I'm at 34 of 41 on DS1. Knights Honor is a beast. It took me like 250+ Channeler kills to get the fucking trident. FUCK that was painful.

Bumping this, apparently they came out with the release date outside of japan(which is march) and it's only a month later, in april, on all platforms and in both europe and the US.

Dark Souls III launches April 2016 in North America and Europe - Gematsu

Nice that the PC version isn't lagging behind this time it seems, so will most likely pick that up, the loadings in Bloodborne were killing me.

Also "new" footage, there's some bits that were shown previously, but it's an actual gameplay video unlike the other stuff so you can see UI changes and shit. Hopefully there will be a no commentary version at some point(edit: replaced with no commentary version):

Can't wait to try out their new resource (Ash Estus?). April can't come fast enough.

It's not just magic, it's stance changing and special move power as well, from what I understand.

It's more depth and complexity, but seemingly not for their own sake. I think they'll really add to giving your character it's own style.
