Their servers were really shitty earlier, might still be. I managed to get in when they recovered for a while but wouldn't be surprised if it's fucked again.

I don't know how confident i feel about the game at this point. I am downloading a 70mb file at 15kb/sec and it keeps timing out.

im now about 90 percent done the patch and the original 70mb took maybe 5 mins......

I left the patcher running through the night while it continued to loop and throw up the "Patching Failed: peConnectionClosed" error. At some point in time it kicked in and started to download files, slowly, but it's patching.

The fact that they decide they need to have a NDA on the beta when they were "so close" to release this week seems a bit strange...

Did you try

the fix for it (at least on windows 8)
right click ->properties
run: Minimized (defaults is Window)
double click to launch
then open the program from the task bar

It hasn't started yet, tomorrow. But most likely later, they already got the excuses out for tomorrow not being ready, shit about last minutes bugs and what not. And they act like they were almost ready for launch last week, uh uh. Plenty of time to get people's ideas and shit on the game, since it won't release until like mi january at the very best, but let's be honest probably not before february. Also they have a NDA so we'll see how it goes.
