Did they not put the mod "music" in the game? That stuff made the game extra creepy.

Helicopters and cars scared me. I always assumed they were packed full of well geared bandits roaming the map for kills.

Edit: I've never had a helicopter in DayZ mod, but it looks fun as hell

I never even bothered learning to pilot one since every single time I got into one with a friend we crashed from player error, lag, or just randomness. Rather drive or run somewhere.

Played again last night. Actually ran into quite a bit of zombies this time. i survived after using some rags but I accidentally fell off some steps and my legs are broke (I guess). I'm crawling around and what sucks i'm completely geared out right now and i'm afraid i'm going to have to die. I'm hoping a buddy of mine can find me and bring some splints. Is there an easy way to find each other?

Thanks! I actually figured this out when is logged out of frustration and back in... Haha

Ran into a lot of people this morning. Everyone very nice and gave me and a friend of mine quite a bit of stuff. With that being said, I'm not sure what the objective would be if everyone is helpful and you see 1 zombie a hour. I'm cool if people want to help, I prefer to myself, but there has to be more dangers if that will be an option.

now that you have the gun, you go and make the excitement, you turn into the bandit you want to fear.

im not sure why everyone is being so friendly maybe its the alpha vibe? most of the stories I heard of dayz that attracted me were the brutal noob killings, I plan to start some myself since ive somewhat learned my way around the map enough to gear with a gun and the essentials, now its just up to me to make some fun happen.

We set the bar pretty high by clubbing the 2 guys holding extinguishers as they were yelling "STOP PLEASE STOP" over and over.

Flying helis isn't hard...especially if they have auto-hover ;P I used to love it when MV-22 would spawn because people seemed to be confused about how to fly them. GG thanks for the 1 briefcase sell at aircraft vendor ;P

They're really not that bad once you get used to it. Playing epoch gives you plenty of opportunities to fly throwaway choppers and learn how they handle whilst damaged. Cutting travel times to a fraction of what they'd be on foot/in a car is most definitely worth it, not to mention giving you 2 light machine gunners (on vanilla hueys) and an awesome vantage point for finding more vehicles, crash sites, players, and player camps/bases. There's really nothing more valuable in the game than a chopper.

Also, can anyone confirm if the corpse despawn upon disconnect thing is actually fixed? Patch notes said they fixed it and made the respawn button actually work, but I haven't had a chance to play (except for a brief 5 minutes when a ladder insta-gibbed me and i rage quit)..

It is fixed. Teck and I camped out the Zelen military command building last night. Only one survivor came through and we killed him. That survivor had a helluva haul on him, pristine m4 parts including an ACOG, couple of banded 30 rounds magazines and a 40 round magazine. His body stuck around long enough to allow me to medic Teck back to life and for us two, and Maple, to divvy up properly.
